Chamber was throated for the 168 long. The bullet did like a little bit of jump. I'll post my load data, jump and coal when I get to my reloading room.

I also switched to 19" at the last minute before they cut the barrel. Still had enough meat for 5/8 thread. I run this one suppressed with the scythe. Performance on game was outstanding. It took 3 deer in the fall 50, 210 and 325 yards. Performance was as expected. I don't have any rifle hunts this fall to try it on bigger game. Doing a muzzleloader elk hunt and waterfowl in Canada.

Just finished my 300wsm build! Will be running Staball 6.5 until I can get my hands on RL23 or 26.
Im running a little heavier projectiles (190-200grs) with 66.0gr (190) and 65.0gr (200) of Staball under them, and between 5-50 thousands off lands depending on the bullet. COAL between 3.000-3.050"

I'm loading the 168 long at 0.050 jump for a coal of 3.120". Plus keep in mind I have the plus p chamber so you will not be able to use this much powder. I found pressure right around 69.5 grains of h4350 velocity of 3094fps. My final load is 67.7 grains of h4350, 2975 fps, 5 shot sd of 3.9.
Please don't load this in a standard 300wsm chamber without very cautious work up!

Yes, you do. That's the flaw of the .300 WSM action in factory in SA.

Sometimes it does. It shot great at 3060 fps as well. I was just a little nervous to run it that hard all the time. If I ever need any extended range I'll load it.
I also have a plus p 300wsm on a defiance xm for 215 Bergers. I didn't notice any extra velocity with that one over what people post with standard chamber. With a 26" tube I get pressure at 2870 fps with h4350. So maybe some combinations see a benefit and others don't. I built the gun expecting to use RL26 but never ended up with any.

Great speeds none the less! Mines not broken in 100% yet but it appears to want to tune at 2975 fps with the 168 Long over H4350.
I'm gonna have to try some of these in my 300Mega…thanks to YOU people.

It would be an "add-on" per say. You can ask your smith about it and see what options he can do for you.
These 300 wsm + 168 Long combinations are sweet sweet shooters! Honestly 2950-3000 fps is plenty for what I'd use it for.
Mine is coming in at 9 lbs scoped, suppressed, and loaded. Handy & manageable to shoot.
