I built this stock and you have me curious as to its weight. When it comes back from checkering, I will weigh it.

That is awesome. Would you update us when you get it? I'd love to know how it looks in person.View attachment 550568
I just discovered last night that grayboe offers a very attractive looking finish that they call "fiber wood" I liked it so much I ordered one for my 7mm prc.
I would love to watch you do this! Nice work! While wood stock purists will turn up their noses at a laminate stock , ive found it to be a great compromise between looks and feel, and performance, rigidity, and weight. I custom make my own out of laminate blanks from boyds. I completely hog out the barrel and action inlet and hand lay carbon fiber to build the area back up before machining out the final inlet. I dont recall what the stock on this rifle weighed but the final product with scope and a #5 contour barrel weighed a touch over 10 pounds. View attachment 550472

Thank you. I have played around with the idea of doing some videos. It seems to be a dying art and you just don't see many stock makers sharing the process.I would love to watch you do this! Nice work!
