Dear all, I watched a video last night on YouTube in which a german speaking hunter used a Lane Precision rifle with exquisite effect on two ibexes. Apparently, the rifle was chambered in 300 AA 75, designed by the hunter and built by Lane precision. Anybody, perhaps Dallas Lane himself can provide some information about this round? It allegedly fires 230 grain bergers at approximately 3400 feet per sec. Here is the link for the YouTube video

Yikes. That sounds like recoil deluxe.

Thank you. I think the necked down 416 is for all intents and purposes refers to 338 lapua based round.
Nope…it is the same as my own wildcats, which are 416 Rigby Improved with 45°, 40° & 35° shoulders depending on calibre, which are .375", .338" & .308".
The Lapua is shortened and tapered, not very efficient in real world terms, however, it does have a thicker base and web.

Cheers.

Thank you. I did not realize that. Live and learn, I guess.
Can you provide some more information about your cartridges?
