Well for me I do remember, because it is my longest shot. I have a few dozen from 150yds and in, but that's a Normal or typical distance. Most are 50 to 100yds.
You can't see any further.

Took a cow elk at 512 with a 300RUM and 210 Berger VLD. My brother bested me with my own rifle. He took an antelope with it at 865. Both shots were one and done.

Not really. When it's your longest you remember those easy.

I took a coyote at 1111 yards off my front porch in central Mt with a 6.5 creed running 42.8 h4350 and 130 Berger. Most of my elk/deer fall within 550 yards. I monkey around 3 ranches that total just under 300,000 acres then there is national forest to play on . I use a 7prc with 175 eldx over 28.8 grains of h1000 . Presently building a 300 prc to . So I've got plenty of time to to fill my tags

I've shot a number groundhogs out at the 1,000yd line, but I've only shot big game at 500yds or so. Longer shot opportunities aren't usually possible where I hunt.

Cascade blacktail Buck... 700 yards, and change, a Weatherby MkV .257 Wby Mag with my hand load using a 100gr Barnes XLC a great bullet, which they no longer manufacture. Cheers
