6.5 X 284 Bullet - Target

What is anyone loading for bullets in the 6.5 X 284 for Target and what twist are you using?
We are currently using 142 gr SMK 1:8 and thinking about going to 150 gr SMK.

153.5gr Berger with a 7.5 twist

140 eldm, 8 twist, savage rifle

140 SMK 1-8" but only because I could get seconds cheap for practicing. The 142 BC is much better and as I'm sure you are aware the 150 is a lot better than the 142.

I use a 140 berger target hybrid in my 1-8. Keep it right at 2950fps, I think this cartridge really likes that speed for some reason. I am on my third barrel and they have all seemed to really like that speed.

142 gr. Smk 51.7 gr. 4831 sc 3.172 better Han 1/2 moa.

I think your dead nuts on that. I get best accuracy at 2920 fps with the Sierra 140's and push the Berger 140 HVLD at 3000 for hunting. Everything I've tried in my 6.5-284 falls between 2900 and 3000 fps accuracy wise. My rifle likes both H4831 and Retumbo. With Retumbo pushing them a little faster. Both show about the same accuracy.

I shoot Lapua Scenar 136L in mine around 2950. Mostly because I bought 1000 of them cheap when I bought the barrel. Shoot great, though there are certainly better options BC wise.

I run a 6.5 Addiction, which seems to hit the same nodes as the 6.5x284. I run the 140 Berger Hybrid 2950 in a 26" barrel with H4831. When I point them, I use a .320 G7 for the BC.
