N568 Vihtavuori Powder

N568 would be too slow for the 7 PRC in my opinion. With a standard 300 Norma and 230's, it was drop tube territory to reach 2980 in a 26" barrel with 90 grains.

Yea. I'm not even gonna bother. But i couldn't pass up the deal haha. I tried retumbo today but it wasn't better than my load with N560

65.5 Gr of N560 with 170 Gr Hammer Hunter Tipped going 3015 fps avg out of a 24" barrel. My 14 year old son killed a cow elk at 820 yards with this load.

I could squeak some more velocity out of it but it is the most accurate at close to 3000 range. I'll get .3-.5 MOA out of it. N560 is a great powder for the 7 PRC.

Not sure the hype on that cartridge... thats slower then 7mags.. i guess hornady could sell ice to an eskimo lol.. sounds like a hammer though

Oh it's definitely hype. Doesn't do anything a 7 mag won't do. After I got one, I convinced two buddies to just get a 7 mag. It's only nice if you don't reload.

N570 is very very stable powder.
I did not fully tested n565 but so far it is very very temperature stable.
Wondering if you could share your experience with N570 relative to the cartridge you are using. Could you share numbers that reflect the temperature stability of that powder for your applications?

I am looking at prioritizing my testing of a few powder options for 300 WM and 300 Norma with N570 being at the top of my list for hunting loads. With N570, I have been mostly concerned with temp. stability in taking my testing efforts further, the investment of time is my main concern. Any data Temperature data you have about N570 would be helpful. Thank you! - Chris
