14 year old girl can’t miss.

I know how it goes. My son is 17 and was my shadow from the time he could crawl. Every year we were in the deerstand together. We even had our own sign language so we didn't have to speak and possibly spook game.
Last year we didn't hunt together a single time. He is into hunting a different species of whitetail now and, although I understand and I know I did the exact same thing at his age, that was an awfully lonely deer stand last fall.
I don't know where the time has gone. Seems like yesterday I was changing their diapers. Now I do the laundry and see bras and want to puke.

Outstanding stuff guys. It will come around again. I'm now shooting and hunting with grandkids. My 9 year old granddaughter shot a mule deer and a Whitetail last fall each with one shot. Last weekend she shot her first bear. Spend the time with those kids and they will raise their kids with the same values. Often Grandpa will have more available time to take those kids out. I am having a ball!

Solid work on the long range. Congratulations to you both.

My oldest daughter is 25 and the youngest about to turn 20. Polar opposites for sure. Oldest was a wild child she used to shoot and hunt with me and then the wild phase took over for several years then last fall she said "daddy I want to go hunting with you" I jumped at the chance we hunted several days and honestly I didnt care if we even saw a deer. We laughed and just enjoyed the deer stand a smaller buck came out one day and she said I am not shooting him daddy hes just a baby and we just watched him. My youngest has been my shadow since she was in diapers. We hunted fished camped she can MIG TIG ARC weld shes helped me build multiple FJ40's over the years and she was away at college and JEALOUS of big sis. Younger daughter has killed all kinds of game in several different states with me. This year she said she is coming home to hunt she will just get her college work and bring it with her she said she will have plenty of time in the stands to do homework haha. Hopefully I have both girls home to hunt only time will tell...

Sorry for the rambling enjoy your daughter treasure these moments cause they grow up way to fast. I agree I dont mind either of my daughters out shooting me cause I taught them to shoot haha.

I love these stories. The next generation showing their love for the sport. I too have a 15 year old young lady that is an absolute stone cold killer behind her rifle. So much fun to see the sibling rivalry when you drop a target out and what them go too it. I applaud you for your dedication to passing the passion of the sport to your children. Absolutely nothing better than seeing a beaming smile from our youth after they hear the ping of the gong!

This is awesome.
I to have a daughter that loves to go hunting with me. She's killed several whitetail deer here in Oklahoma. Her best to date is a 28pt. Was a young deer, so size isn't all that but still a great deer.

She now hunts with her boyfriend on a lease that's next to mine. So still get to see anything she gets and she's always texting me letting me know what she's seeing and such.

The merical of youth, young eyes, steady hands and no memoris to haunt them of flinching, pulled shots and bad wind calls to shake their faith on making the shot.

Good eyes and hands are most of it.

It's apparent that you've done A LOT of things right in that video, Dad! I hope to do the same with my daughter one day (she's only 6 years old). That kind of shooting takes DISCIPLINE......something sorely lacking in much of today's youth. CONGRATS to both you and your fine little trigger puller there!! Thanks for sharing. ;)

Was out goofing off Friday evening with my daughter. She is 14 years old and honestly doesn't shoot with me that much.
We threw the rifle in the truck and rode over to the property where I practice shooting. We have targets set up on the side of the mountain.
I ranged the full IPSC at 1024yds, so I dialed the dope and missed the first shot on a bad wind call. The 2,3, and 4th shots hit, so I figured I pretty well had the wind figured out since it was fairly steady.
I had my daughter give it a go at that point and I only started recording after she had hit three in a row. She finished out the ten round magazine batting a thousand. Needless to say, ole dad was pretty proud.
"Brian" who I reference in the video is my buddy who rechambered that rifle for me not too long ago. He operates Black Square Precision in Signal Mountain, TN. Awesome guy for sure.

Holy Propofol batman. So sweet I love taking my daughter with me shooting. Congrats on time well spent

The older I have gotten I come to realize that what people think of me on earth really doesn't matter. With the exception of two.....my son and my daughter. If, one day, after I'm gone those two people can think back on times with me and smile and can say "I know that crazy old man loved me", then I've done alright.

Out of 3 daughters 2 love to shoot and hunt, the other not so much. Oldest 23 has 1 yr old boy, my little buddy( new hunting partner). She could care less. One if the twins (about to turn 18) informed me Sunday that between her career choice training in high school and her job she may not be able to go this year. She said this with tears in her eyes but she held it together, just told her we will buy tag and license and let things fall where they may. They got to shoot a .50bmg earlier this year and in stereo says dad you got to get one of these. I agree with those earlier posts time goes so fast enjoy it while we can. Good hunting to all this year.

I look at my two sometimes and I don't see kids anymore. I see young adults. They catch me staring at them and I say, "I would love to just go back and change one of your diapers one more time". They look at me like I've just landed in a UFO.
I always tell them, "you'll know what I mean one of these days. But not until then."
