For info - some large commercial sources have the Ruger Precision Rifle in either 223 or 6mm Creedmoor on sale at $749 right now!

I wasn't seriously looking for a rifle but one followed me home. It's the full deal, with two magazines, etc...

Just happened to have an unemployed Vortex sitting around, complete with rings, and a bipod with no rifle attached... So there ya go. Bargain priced Ruger Precision Rifle in two worthwhile cartridges.

Might be a real good way for someone to get into their first long range/precision rifle.

Regards, Guy

Anyone here loading for the 6mm Creedmoor?

I've got 16+ pounds of the often-recommended H4350, but am wondering if there's a spherical powder, like maybe Hunter, that would work well with the 105 - 115 gr bullets?

Thanks!

I'm working on a 6mm Creed too. Once you get a recipe you like, please share. Thanks!
I am using R-16 and getting good results. 41.5 grains with 105 Hybrids and CCI-450 primers. Hat load gives me a velocity of 3080 FPS. 7.5 twist Proof barrel built by Mike Davis.

My LGS recommended I try Hodgdons Hybrid 100, so I'm shooting that behind 142 gr Sierras, and am pretty happy with it. When he recommended it he had been out of H4350 for a couple of months, so I figured he was just trying to sell me something -- anything -- just to make a sale. But it worked out pretty well and the velocities are good. You can find recommended loads at the Hodgdons' site -- that's where I found them.
