Have a look at the latest insanity being proposed in Oregon.

https://www.statesmanjournal.com/st...s-require-owners-surrender-weapons/444530002/

http://www.kgw.com/article/news/loc...wners-to-surrender-certain-guns/283-530640255

What they are trying to push is a law that would criminalize (Felony) otherwise law-abiding owners of semi-autos.

"Filed by an interfaith religious group in Portland, Initiative Petition 42 would also require legal gun owners to surrender or register their assault weapons or face felony charges, according to language released Tuesday. " Anybody know what an "interfaith religious group" is?

One of the Republican reps in the state had this to say "I've been told so many times by people in favor of gun control: 'no one is coming to take your guns.' This explicitly comes for your guns."

If you live in Oregon make sure you get yourself and others out to vote against this.

The church has started a petition to get it on the ballot this year. If they get I think 88,000 signatures it's on the ballot.

To all the Oregonians out there, get the word out to your friends not to sign the petetion. Apparently they are using kids to circulate the it.

They will get the signatures....no problem...three cities...Portland(all of Portland and adjacent)...Salem(and adjacent)....and Eugene(and adjacent)...
the same areas that will vote it in...having lived in Oregon most of 48 years and tried my best to vote well..the three city and areas gutted Oregon and still do...the only way to make a true vote of the people is a county by county vote...then the Willamette Valley wouldn't win everything....
Oregon's rural communities are dying or dead due to the Willamette Valley's pressure to not log trees that are/were the life of the state...the schools and communities were strong until the big cities killed them....

Since we are talking about Oregon here...a friend of mine with a taxidermy business there..informed me that 90% of the lands that used to be open to hunting are now fee associated or completely leased out....and logging companies have made deals with BLM and Forest Service to maintain roads that connect each others lands....and those roads DO NOT get opened so hunters can access any of the public lands....Oregon..gentlemen..specifically the Oregon coast is shutting down hunting to the private citizen...
Quoted..."there is nothing to access...we are finished hunting"....old boys from the local area..........it won't take long for that to reach you....

..........it won't take long for that to reach you....

That has been my point all along. We have to stop this from happening in the rest of the nation. We cant give one inch of ground. I hope that the word gets out in Oregon so that gun owners and liberty lovers get out en mass and vote this time around. The thing to think about is how much liberty will be taken after firearms are removed or vastly reduced from the hands of the citizenry?

The worsening position of Oregon hunters is the loss of PUBLIC LAND ACCESS
.....denied because timber companies have corruptly overtaken land use of the public lands.....
Something to remember is that lands on east side of cascade mountains is mostly public...which is extremely limited for mule deer tags....most people hunt deer in Oregon vs elk....Blacktail are the most
hunted..which live in the cascades to the coast.....
what will this mean for the hunter numbers of the future..the heritage of family values..coming to an end.....
eventually total expenses will end the common mans hunting...putting all hunting in the rich mans hands....
I saw this when I was about 12 years old...one little timber company bought the road access to an area of the Sixes unit in southwestern Oregon...elk, deer..everywhere....access lost...they bought every piece of property a person could access the public lands...even from local land owners......thousands of acres of land...locked up by a greedy man....
The company that did this is called MooreMill......it took another 25 years but the other companies did the same..some did it in increments....
not only do I feel betrayed by the government locking us out..I am disgusted and sickened..
people like ourselves are seeing the end of their lives as they know it...as we know it...

In my opinion 26reload speaks the truth. The three cities he named control the rest of the state. I was asked one time how does it feel to go to vote and know your vote doesn't count because you don't live in the right county. The only way is to go to a county by county vote and they are not going to let that happen. 26 Reaload my dad was born and died a Oregon resident. My whole family has never lived anywhere else and it's sad. If my 3 brothers and I could figure out how to move a farm to Idaho we would be gone in a heartbeat. Might not cure everything but being the youngest at 51 I might be able to get through it and that is a sad thought for the future generations to come.

Churches crossing the line is nothing new, its ******** but the IRS is too scared to do anything about auditing them and possibly stripping their tax exemption.

I think they should be auditing them, but the religious right would have an anneurism over the governments attack on Jesus. But, then again it's leftist Jesus so not real Jesus. But, the IRS shouldn't exist. Lordy what a cluster.

JBS...all is not lost there yet...I hear an element of southern Oregon fighting back against the entire gun debacle....something will happen....but it doesn't sound like the guns will go anywhere...and all the sheriffs I know down south aren't willing to confiscate anything....

DPMJ...we moved to Idaho three years ago...depending upon what you and your brothers are willing to take on there are ranches and ranchetes for sale....some country for farming....but you better hurry... As the owner of the Jazz is buying up thousands of acres...hoarding elk and deer by the thousands....and no hunting....disgraceful....

The ''church'' that started this is the Augustana Lutheran Church in Portland Oregon. Its totally ridiculous, and why people continue to call a semi auto AR15 rifle a ''assault'' weapon is totally stupid. It was started by the fake news guys. And, now the anti's continue to stir up controversy about these AR's. And, its not just the AR's they are after, look this new proposal up its basically any semi auto rifle, or pistol that can also carry more than 10rds. lets face it, NO matter what they say in salem, they want to take our weapons and fall in line with california, its obvious.

Oregon is run by democrats and, they will not even listen to any reason, in public forums they cut the gun owners to 2 min rebuttal, and then, turn around and give the anti gun people almost unlimited time to speak. This state is absolutely anti gun, and they could care less about our constitutional rights. Since they new governor was installed, replacing a fairly decient former governor its been all down hill. I'm not so sure this whole affair wasn't a set up to unseat the former governor. Now, they can even pass bills without a vote of the people, by using some fake emergency clause. There is NO gun emergency in oregon. The one that really IS a gun emergency, is the way they are treating gun owners, i feel it is about as close to a tyrannical government as you can get at this point. This church is going to try to get this anti gun ban on the ballet, we are in a real fight for our rights.

Seriously, Pray for this state, its getting very scary. If you don't believe it, look up the oregon proposed gun ban Initiative Petition 42 now it has been changed to Petition 43

You can be sure this is being backed by Bloomberg's Everytown movement. He is the funding source behind most all of this type of legislation across the country.

The wording also classifies an "assault weapon" as a weapon with a flash suppressor, muzzle brake, compensator or threaded barrel designed to accommodate the above. So LR or hunting bolt guns with muzzle brakes would be lumped in too, as well as any weapon capable of carrying more than 10 rnds. so kiss your ol marlin 22 semi auto good bye.

The suggestion of a law like this is totally preposterous, but not out of the realm of reality to get passed in a state like Oregon. I have been contemplating moving east of the Snake river for some time now, if this passes my decision making will be much easier.

The conservative radio programs have been very vocal about the nature of this bill. But history shows here in Oregon that conservative or even moderate middle of the road voters who would oppose infringement like this if they were only paying attention, often have more important things to do then send in their ballots on voting day. The liberals always show up. We'll see where it goes.

The unfortunate part about the voting is that its getting to be fewer and fewer people from the rural areas voting....the responsible people that lived there decades ago have either passed on..or moved away..usually to a bigger city with better health facilities...
If we only knew what was coming down the pipe back then..maybe some would have stood tall and fought harder for annexation from the Willamette valley...they have destroyed what once was an entire state of fishing, hunting, and lots of other outdoor activities..including forest product work...now big timber companies have been backing the closure to logging of National Forest and BLM....can you say sierra club mainline.....pay them money..they fight to keep forest from being logged...NO JOBS.. families have to move...
But it doesn't stop there....having gone back to my old stomping grounds I noticed that there were no houses for sale..nothing for rent..there are not enough people in the area to rent or sell to..places are falling apart....ALL ranches..ALL the houses..ALL the land that comes up for sale is sold before a sign hits the dirt...the sneaky realtors have been selling EVERYTHING to Californians...the realtors are knocking door to door to persuade people to pack up and sellout.......and the people leave...
less voters in the rural areas....rural society is dying...no possible chance to vote out a gun legislation if put on the ballot...

My mom at 91 years of age is a figure in Her town...She raised 10 kids of Her own and any that needed a safe haven until She said "get your *** back home and discuss your problems with your parents"..that number could well be over one hundred..maybe double that....She was a member of the Lady's Auxillary for nearly 60 years of which Her mom was one for several years also..Her dad a Veteran of WW1 and member of local servicemen post..She battled school superintendents kept kids from being suspended..a few of Her own..and She won most of those battles...
But most of all She VOTED...She voted Her mind and She spoke Her mind.......and people may not have agreed but they showed Her the respect that She has earned in that area...before She left the Lady's Auxillary She did ALL the ground work for a memorial for all the Veterans of the local areas...and She told us how She wanted it done.......it sits in a spot where people can walk thru town to it..drive by it..but they see it....Her dedication to Her town where She grew up..where She raised Her kids....we tried many times to move Her from there..to no avail......that is Her town...She will continue to vote there...She will die there...and be put to rest there with Dad and Grandma and Grampa......
They sure as hell won't get Her guns....
