Problems feeding w/ Wyatt MBE-5 box

I just got my 6.5 CM build on a Rem 700. We put in a Wyatt MBE-5 extended mag box. Followed Wyatt's instructions for milling receiver etc. Now the first two rounds go in fine but the third is difficult and tends to tip forward so that rim is not available to the bolt and will not feed unless I go use something to force the front of the cartride down so the rim tips up in the back. Had a fellow at the range suggest trying to bend the lips of the box out a little but I am reluctant to try anyting without some more confirmation. Does anyone else have any suggestions?
Using Wyatt's suggest follower as well with the spring that is stiffer than the factory spring. Tried the factory spring and it didn't work.

You mentioned a MBE box but only the CFE's have feed lips. If your using a CFE box they're not designed to work with standard size cartridges very well. Whats probably happening is the follower is getting pinched in the mag box when it gets to the last round. The CFE's in a short action work best with WSM and RSAUM cartridges.
I love the Wyatt boxes but for standard size cartridges run the MBE's for better feeding. Pending someone didn't mess with the feed rails on the action.

Just us a 308 follower if your not.

I have used the MBE-5 box on several rifles using .284 based cartridges for the extra magazine length. This magazine is intended for .308 bolt face cartridges, not Short mags.These magazines don't feed well with anything the way they come from Wyatt. The feed lips (Yes they do have them) need to be bent to accommodate the cartridge being used. It's pretty hard to describe how to do it. A good starting point is to compare the dimension between the lips at the front and rear to a factory magazine and duplicate that. Then tweak as needed. Mine usually ended up with a slightly curved shape. There are a relatively few gunsmiths out there that have this mastered. Some trial and error should do it.

I guess I don't totally understand. I didn't believe the 6.5 CM has anything to do with the .284 or short mags. My understanding is that is a necked down 30 TC which was based on the .308 case.

I was trying to make the point that the mag box you have IS the correct one for your 6.5 Creedmore and other .308 bolt face cartridges that need a little extra magazine length. Wyatt makes a different magazine with window cut outs to accommodate the short magnums. It might help to bend the spring so that it puts a little more pressure on the back of the follower. If that doesn't do it, the lips need to be bent to allow the cartridges to rest flat against the rails and to release as the bullet enters the chamber.

The last Wyatts I used was a real pain to get adjusted... I finally took it to Broz and in 30-45 minutes he had it feeding very well... I must of had it in and out of stock 25 times...He Had a small separate tool box with all his Wyatts tools in it... Leather, pliars, small fine files to round the edges and even blueing compound. This one had some binding issues where the so called smith didn't cut the action with enough clearance everywhere...
