Help me get back in to it....

Sonora, Mexico Sorry I don’t know anyone there, too scared to ask what it cost but would like to go myself sometime. Have seen photos of Monsters shot there. Maybe when I retire if I’m not too wore out.

Why you need to Understand Vista Outdoors and What They Own

Wouldn’t we all like to think that! That S.O.B would sell us all down the river in a New York minute, Im with the other guy I’m going to go back to reading Romans. These sort of conversations are really depressing. I hope those boys in Texas get their primer plant fired up and going soon.

Looking for a good all around bullet for .308 win.

I voted 168 matchking but I would not hesitate to shoot a deer with any bullet on the list if it was accurate in my rifle.

Not sure where to post this!

That’s funny I shoot smallbore silhouette in the local club matches, also in my original post I had typed in “shoot those test groups at the turkey and ram distance” but changed it because I figured very few would know what I was talking about. Nice to know a fellow silhouette shooter.

Not sure where to post this!

What he said.... Only may I add, move your target out to at least 75 yards if not 100 if you have a good scope and shoot your groups for score at that distance any flyers will really show themselves instead of shooting at 50 and wondering if that one 3/4 inch out was you or not, you will know...

Best Path to an Accurate .35 Whelen

I would prefer the 35 Whelen myself, but just a suggestion you may check around for availability of ammo for a 9.3x62, it may be easier to find than ammo for a Whelen I would think ammo for either would be hard to find. Ballistics are very similar between the 2. A few years back you could buy a...

    44 magnum rifle load

H110/296 are excellent powders and I would not hesitate to use them for your application, I’ve for sure burnt up probably more than my fair share of both. With that being said if you could find some alliant 300mp I think you would be pleasantly surprised with the results, it is slighty slower...

    10mm Auto: Need POWER loads!

    Trade it for a 41 magnum 😀

    10mm auto powerrecommendations

Glad you found some number 9 I think you’ll like it in your 10 My vote would go to either the AA9 or longshot for all around use, and titegroup or power pistol for paper or small game loads. If you have been loading for rifle then you should be able to just slide right into loading for a pistol...

No load data for Lapua, plenty for Winchester, Remington and federal

I can’t believe no one has said this yet so I’ll be the first; if you’re going to dump that lapua 300 WM brass please dump it in my direction I would be most grateful and dont mind risking my life and limbs doing a little load development to see if it’s any good or not. Just sayin.

    12GA Rounds for Grizz?

I’m in the 45-70 camp but I’m always in the 45-70 camp and that’s not what the o.p. asked, so if I was in your shoes this is what I would do. Load the shotgun with the as many of the meanest shells you can find, if the meanest shells you can find are for birds get a 45-70. Same for the pistol...

    243 AI vs 6mm on 6.5x55 case?

The 6-6.5x55 sounds like a good idea I may also go that route soon. My second 6mm ai is on its last leg, I’ve just been babying it shooting coyotes and occasional 3 shot groups I really like the 6mm ai for all around use in its heyday my first one could crank out those 87 gr. Vmax’s at 3750...

What rifles you guys running for varmint hunting?

Same as everyone else. I thought until I read all of the above Lyman Great Plains with .490 round balls and 50 grs. of FF ignited by a sharp rock hitting cold steel. I guess I’m a little behind the times.

Looking for Help Picking Factory .308 for Whitetails

Start with the cheapest and go up in that order, once you find the “one” buy a bunch of the same lot #. If those MS. Whitetail are anything like Tx. Whitetail they wont soak up much lead before they give up the ghost, so I would try to keep it cheap, just about any cup and core S.P. Bullet...
