    260 barrel length

This has helped Cody, as we speak I am building a 260 rem. I like longer barrels in my past builds. was thinking 22-24. now I'm thinking 26. this rifle is to be used in Montana deer and speed goat hunts.

    Reloading info. ELDX 162gr

I have very good results with the 162 eld x and M using R25 I run it at 3250 it shoots 3/4moa all day. the powder holds 5fps variance in speed for me.

Reticle not level or square to level housing?

just remounted 3 scopes. I used the level mounted on the rifle barrel, and a level on the scope mount to start. then shined a light back thru the scope to level scope/ Finally put a level mounted to the scope for a reference to keep me from canting the rifle. IN the shop the scope looked...

I have used the Montana copper cleaner on it. not a lot of copper. It may be Hornady bullets. I don't see a need for the Berger stuff yet. The 162 was over kill on an antelope this year. I'm looking forward to an elk using the 175s ELDX seems as good as anything. I bought a Huskemaw scope and...

Need help in selecting a .25-06 bullet

If you are shooting 400 yards or less, real world for a 25/06 a 120 grain partition is just fine. don't be so fascinated with the .400 grouping. ANY rifle that shoots a real world 1MOA is ALL you need.

    best 308 twist

I'm going to rebarrel a 308 (24"). I believe a 1-10 twist is better than the 1-12. I will use it to hunt deer and use the 150 grain bullets. Reason for the 1-10 is my 30/06 I have is 1-10 shoots great with a 150 at 2950fps. opinions ?

I have put 100 rounds thru the rifle. it is FAST. the finished barrel is at 28" with a 9.5-8.5 twist. so far the 162 eldx is running 3300fps with a basic load, Im using magnum powder for it and the 175 eldx. good accuracy 3/4-1/2 if I do my part. Brown Dog Gunsmithing did the work. At first I...

    7stw eld-x 162

I'm just finished setting up my new STW. It was built by Brown Dog in Athol, ID. I'm using the 162ELDX bullets. With Magnum powder its running an honest 3300 fps. very accurate and im no where near over pressure. It has a Bartlien barrel at 28.5 inches. This is a shooter. I can get 1/2 moa if I...

SOLD/EXPIRED (information) : There are feds posing as buyers

First there are two different types of ATF. The special agents are the gun toters (law enforcement). Then there are "investigators" they are the ones checking paperwork at gun stores, etc. I'm around them because of explosive storage. They are young liberals most are anti-gunners. They inspect...

I wish I could make the 110 accubonds shoot like that! Maybe I will try again.

The .25-06 and .25-06 Improved By J.C. Munnell

my best performance has been with imr 4831 and the R19. thats shooting the 115 thru my 25 ackley. The Vvori powders interest me. The lighter bullets 87 100, may shoot tight but dont holdup to wind very well out past 350yds. thats what the charts show. the 115 is the best for 400-600 yd hunting...

The .25-06 and .25-06 Improved By J.C. Munnell

No I have not tried a 90gr. I use a nosler 115bt for deer and antelope. It has a better BC. I have a 27.5" barrel so I get good speed from it. How long a barrel are you using? My rifle will shoot the 115 nosler 5/8" @ 200yds. very accurate. BUT I cannot get it to shoot the 110 accubond at all...

The .25-06 and .25-06 Improved By J.C. Munnell

I think your pushing the bullet to fast. quit trying to outrun the 257 weatherby. lower the speed to 3600 and see how it shoots. Accuracy is far better than speed.
