    270-300 Win Mag now feasible

Not sure if it's a safety issue but it is 1 factor affecting accuracy. Best reloading guide I have found is "Precision Shooting - Reloading Guide-", ISBN # 1-931220-12-3, unfortunately it is out of print. It recommends seating the bullet lightly against the lands, and do not load more than a...

    270-300 Win Mag now feasible

Thanks, BJG! Question about the nitride it penetrates the surface of the steel and hardens it right or is it a heat dispersion benefit? Like hard anodizing does to aluminum. I assume it was applied to the bore as well? The OCW will work with any manufactures bullets of the same weight...

    270-300 Win Mag now feasible

Regarding "Ladder" usage, I'm new to reloading so my question is seeking to understand not question anyone's methods. Are you using the ladder method to develop loads because there is no baseline data available? Or because you a seeking max speeds with reasonable accuracy? I have recently...

What are your top tips to make me a better hunter?

Thanks everyone for your great input. At this time I would like to ask for specifics for example when stalking with an outfitter this fall he had us stop because the cloud cover had lifted which he said would make us more visible to the Elk because we were casting shadows. I thought that was...

New to long range shooting and hunting

Several good tips here so far, the SWFA SS 10X, keep your rifle stock until you can develop custom hand loads, practice, practice and practice more, use only the equipment on the range that you are going to use on the field, most any bipod will do as long as it is keeps your rifle from moving...

    Bull Down...But Lessons Learned

Congratulations, Monster bull! Had similar experience just 5 days to develop load and sight in new scope. Used the OCW, Optimal Charge Weight, method and saved a LOT of time vs. the ladder method I had been using, got to 0.1 grain in 65 shots, well that’s fast for me anyway considering I had...
