I think alot depends on the fit of the rifle and the recoil pad used. My wife shoots a 270 Stainless Stalker Browning. The rifle is fairly light. It's been cut down to fit her and a Decellerator pad installed. She goes to the range around 8-10 time a year and empties a 50 round box everytime...
I know there are several aftermarket stock makers for the 700. I would imagine each one has something different going on. Is the aluminum bedding block an advantage?
So I have the bug to build up an all around hunting rifle. Probably a 30 cal mag something or other. Barrel length around 24"-26”. I’m thinking a 3.5x10x40 or 44 scope. It will be used for mid to longer range boar and deer hunting. Most of my hunting is in canyons or deserts, so lots of walking...
I did a search but didn't come up with anything. I just ordered a 300 RUM and need to get set up. Who else besides Remington and Nosler is currently making brass in this caliber? I have a 338 RUM and Remington is the only choice available. Although it looked like hell when it was new it seems to...
Re: .257 Weatherby-110 gr. Accubond-RL25-What\'s not to like?
If it consistently groups that small I wouldn't try anything else. I have one with a 24" barrel and have been chasing consistent groups for so long I finally quit. I'd get a 1/2" group followd by a 3" group. My highest velocity with...
I'll take the remaining 200 rounds of the 300 WSM.
400 rounds of the 22-250.
200 rounds of the 223.
Please email me the amount for shipping and the address for the check.
Thanks,
Andrew
Don't loose any sleep over your decision, you made a great choice. I have three 300 mag's. A 300 Wby, a 300 Win and a 300 WSM. My Win mag with 180 gr bullets gets 3030 fps with 75 gr of RL-22 and a 26" barrel. While I have not had my WSM on a chrono, I've watched my buddy get 3150 fps with RL-19...
I have a Winchester 7wsm Featherweight. It's the first rifle I've owned that actually shots faster than the reloading manual's data. Stock gun, 24" barrel, 71gr RL-19 and 139 Interbond = 3400 fps with 3/4 moa. Good speed, good accuracy and very little recoil.
The 7mm has the obvious advantage...
Thanks for the reply JE. While cost is always a concern, it's not really the issue. I have a Schmidt and Bender Zenith 3x12x50 on a 7STW and a 3x12x56 Zeiss Diavari on a 300 Weatherby. In low light these scopes are in another class (especially the Zenith), but I’m not sure they're a necessary...
Thanks for the replies. I haven't shot the rifle yet, but i'm not planning on useing a brake. I've actually never fired a gun with a muzzle brake.
Before I buy the Zeiss is there anything else around that magnification range I should look at?
Hi guy's, I just found this forum and I'm impressed with the knowledge and information found here. Having said that, I searched and found several opinions on scopes others use.
I just bought a 338 RUM LSS and I'm looking for a scope in the 4x14 range or possibly higher. I don't want to give up...
