ok guys, I am acquiring my first magnum rifle to hunt with,a .264 win mag. I hunt in Louisiana and most probably will not shoot over 300 yards. any suggestions on a decent scope without breaking the bank, and also a recommended power.

Guys I just mounted a 42mm scope on low rings with enough barrel clearence....but I can see my barrel in the scope.....?????
