In the Ear? Really???

good shot! you're going to eat him aren't you???:D

I'm offended! "Going to"? My 'ol lady had butter in the skillet before I even pulled the trigger! 'Tween her and the kids, fresh possum never lasts more than a few minutes 'round here! :D:D

I'm just happy if there is some tail left for me:D

i always appreciate some tail when i can get it.

don't think i got any in this guy's ear, but the faaaace is just as good! had to chase him across a cut milo field. wasted a few shots trying to steer with one hand and shoot out the window with the other. guess i'm too old now to 'one-hand' a shotgun with that much bouncing around. but apparently i'm still dumb enough to grab the wheel with my knees so i could shoot with both hands. made all the difference.

djones you owe me another keyboard after that remark. I spewed Coke all in mine!!

LMAOROTF!!!!!!!!!!!

i cant figure out from your posts where you are killing them hogs. I just returned from a trip to Ala deer hunting and was hoping to get some hog hunting in , but never found any. everybody seems to think they are everywhere, but I couldn't find any sign of them on any property I hunted.....and that's how they want to keep it! AJ

doggyd - here is a hint to where i'm shooting them... link

coy - i will pay for half your keyboard, but varmintguy has to pay the rest. here is some more hog porn, but i assume no responsibility for any more computer parts.

I'm eatin' possum - unless your keyboard is made of twigs and rocks don't count on me for my half!

djones - you are the frickin' HOGINATOR and it sure looks like a hell of a lot of fun!

don't know that i've killed that many, but i've sure fired a few shots. these two were across the field from the other seven. so windy they didn't hear all the shooting.

here is the daytime hog from the link above. not exactly in the ear, but close enough that it splattered stuff into his brain.

I have to admit I wasn't looking forward to the quarter mile stalk down the pivot to the hog community at the other end. It was pretty cold and very windy, but there was no other way, and no way around the cows either. When they spooked the hogs took off. The big one ran out of site quickly, but the little ones weren't in as big a hurry.

I double timed it back to the truck and raced to the north end hoping for a shot at anything. Surprisingly, the big hog was standing there larger than life. I had to decide quickly if I should stalk up on foot or cut him off in the truck. We looked at each other and both floored it at the same time. He was fast, but no match for the chevy. When I poured the conoco to her, 225 ponies reared up from under the hood and the race was on (ok, maybe 175 nags).

There was no time to swing the truck into shooting position. I slammed on the brakes, hung out the window and took a shot… miss! I had one more chance before the hog ran past me and through the fence to safety. Now I was hanging out so far the rifle was sideways. A little less lead and – BAM… the toad was knocked off his feet.

When I was satisfied he was done, I checked around to see if any wemmin and chirren were hanging around. Yea, I'm that guy. No such luck but no matter, the hoss was worth all the trouble. Turns out the first shot hit him after all, nicked him across the snout!

Well if that's not a first class example of "rednecking it" I don't know what is.

Congrats.

If I under stood 1 comment, someone is looking forward to their arrival. They are kinda like clap, fun at first but you WILL regret it in the long run !! If you saw the damage they can do overnight to crops & food plots you wouldn't believe it. They also kill fawns & young livestock and tyey are rough on fences. Paul

hid up in the rocks over looking a river with a buddy.

spotted hogs on the move over 500 yards away. by the time we were both ready, only one hog was visible, so we both shot him. one of the cool things about shooting with a can is seeing the object you're shooting at take the hit, especially at that distance. he literally flipped over.

we all know the rule… 'no pic, no pig'. but that doesn't mean you have to recover it. when we busted through the brush we found the river had water in it. deep water. it was a little chilly to strip down and wade across, so we backed out and snapped pics from a distance. you can just make him out over my shoulder.

with a little zoom you can see guts coming out his side.
