Irresponsible bullet manufacturers

Y'all sure like gang up on new guy don't ya lmao. Doesnt bother me at all. 300mag is not mine, I just load for it 300rum is mine. I've made my point, it's BS Hornady withholds data to sell on the side of manuals it should've been in. too many people trying hate just on another person's opinion
Everyone has an opinion and if you post it on a public forum then you're open to varying opinions. It's free speech. I really don't understand why people get bent out of shape when manufacturers withhold information that they spent money, time, and work in order to get. Heck a worker at Hornady recently died while at work. My opinion is we need to get out this mindset in this country that we should get something for nothing. Just my opinion on a public forum.

It burns my butt that if I spend my money to buy bullets from a bullet company that their answer to a data question is " well you need to spend more money and buy my data " Hornaday for example I've got some 123 amax bullets and i need some 6.5 prc data sent them a email to see about load data I even sent them a powder list and their was we'll sell it to ya that just ****es me off. Sorry for the vent and I know there are bullet companies that freely give you their data and I applaud them for doing so Barnes and Berger will amongst others
You came to the wrong place for a pity party!

You're right about mindset in this country, terrible things coming to this great country and we're all too busy arguing amongst ourselves bout nonsense to take notice. Too much opposition to anything and everything. I stated my point and opinion received other opinions about mine yet argument still continues. I agree to disagree. Thats the end of it on my end. ✌️ out I'm too old compete argue with anybody cept idiots trying to takeover the country🇺🇸. I don't take offense to any your opinions so don't mine

Wow did someone complain about bullet or powder companies withholding information to make money? Ummm probably not.

A lot of loads that we ( Royal WE) may like or want to try are from either a economic or efficiency or even a safety viewpoint not really that good or can be accomplished by another powder or even duplicates data already out there and only the best will make it into print.

I touched on this in another thread these companies are spending more money a week than probably all of us will spend in a lifetime on development and testing and issues may have popped up that we won't ever know about until we have that moment of intense excitement six inches infont of our snout and hopefully all we will have is a an adrenaline dump and a learning moment.

I have had many a conversation with all current bullet, ammo, powder manufacturing companies agents and tech support people on various issues and problems and for the most part the information I sought or needed was available was free, but I have also needed to pay for some of it, even if it was just to cover administrative cost, but that was the price of doing business.

Ask your Lawyer a question......does he give it away for free...or like mine is he on a retainer?

I agree to disagree.
That's fine we can agree to disagree. Purely on an economic stand point the Hornady bullets are some of the economically priced match and hunting bullets. Compared to those to free give data we can see where the give and take is in pricing. One member posted about getting the info through their app. It's only $19.99 and has data that's from the 11th edition load manual.

I have a bass pro 10 minutes from my house. I'm there pretty regular checking on whats on the shelves. I get that Hornady spends money on load testing. But they sell ammo so they have to do it anyway. Nosler, Barnes the powder companies all publish their data. I think it's a little cs that Hornady wants you to buy it but whatever.

I wasn't referring to you in particular, it's just amazing what we'll think of if it comes to trying to save a buck, myself included.

I haven't been in a Cabela's or Bass Pro in years, so there's that.

I signed up for that XXL-Reloading site when it was posted earlier in this thread. I also am a member of Load Data and Ammo Guide. I also have the Quickload program, unlike some of y'all, I really don't need it since I rarely push a load or not have a reference point to start from. I am kinda vanilla in that respect.

I am old school every thing I use is in book forum. So I pay for the info. The super cool thing is that my dad has books that are over 40 years old so when there's oddball stuff that comes up like trying to get a pointed bullet for a 300 Savage load instead of around those bullet because you have one in a bolt action them old old manuals have that and what a different accuracy and performance that makes when you can take an old cartridge and put a new bullet design into it but you won't have that on your computer or your phone. I also make notations in my manual for the load that we figured out a certain gun likes and I've got more guns in that caliber I'll Note which load for which gun quick reference

This reminds me of a couple of old geezers complaining about the price of a powder at my local Scheels being $1 more expensive than where they are from. LOL, they just traveled 90 miles one way.

I just caught myself doing the very thing I was posting about.

I needed bottled water, granola bars, canned diced green chilis and what nots, for work, deer lease and home. I almost placed 3 different orders from 3 different stores to save a couple of bucks, maybe $10 tops. Placed the pickup order with one place and was in and out of the pickup area in less than 3 minutes.

It's not just gear, guns, ammo, bullets and such, I will catch myself doing it with fuel. I was raised by my grandparents after my mom passed. They got their social security checks on the 3rd or closest Monday, they would go to the bank and deposit them and then on the following Saturday, we'd head to the store. They penny pinched, bought everything they couldn't grow or raise in bulk, salt, pepper, flour, corn meal, etc. They only went to the store on that Saturday unless there was an emergency. No wasted effort, trips and such.

I'd trade everything I have to go back and live that life all over, swamp cooler and all.

We have it pretty good, they drop needless crap at your doorstep just about anytime we want, drive thru pick up, any station or song you want at the touch of your fingertip.

I had started this job just shortly before the first time my boss sent me to town with a big shopping list.
He told me to just buy the stuff anywhere I could find it, don't waste time, gas, and energy to save a few dollars.
It makes a lot of sense really, less wear and tear on my company truck, gas, and why spend 4 hours doing what otherwise would take me 3.
It varies by a persons situation.
Time, and gas, or pay a little bit more.

This reminds me of a lady complaining about having to tip a hunting guide. Buy the book. Or don't, there's so much info on the internet. All you have to do is a Google search with the cartridge, bullet you want to shoot and powders you want to use. There will be ten thousand threads about the exact combo.

This really isn't about the books I have several books and manuals I started buying books back in th 70s before the net was ever thought of its about customer service and believe it or not I can use the internet and I can look at other data figure things out for myself. If I spend my hard earned money on your products I expect a little help if I ask and I know if I ask here that this crowd will help out with everything imaginable that pertains to reloading and shooting and I sincerely appreciate it
