I'd like to work a load for my 7 SS, using 175 bergers, out of my 20 inch barrel, seated at 2.950. I have an accurate load with RL 26, unfortunately found out the hard way that Texas heat and RL 26 don't mix well together 🤣. Any experience with Retumbo or N568? I have some data from H1000. I can get some N565 just not sure how temperature stable it is.
Thanks
H

Call Berger and they will provide load data for H-1000 and other powders of your choosing.

I shoot the 7SS and the 175 Berger EH with 61.5 grs of N565 in the Tx heat. Not a 20" bbl but a 24". So far no issues. My bbl like .050 off the lands so it is a somewhat compressed load.

N565 works. It's still a little temp unstable but no where near RL26. I would suggest trying RL23 also. I shot today with both powders and it was 105. I was shooting cold bore shots though. I did run the batteries down on my Coleman homemade barrel cooler lol.

Thanks! I picked up some N565 today. What primers are you running?
CCI BR-2. I shoot no more than 5 shot strings and let them cool to ambient before next round. So I usually take 5-6 rifles to the range and swap out regularly. I shoot on my own property so I have 3 target stands loaded with targets, one for each rifle. That and a spotting scope, cold towel and cooler and I am good for a few hours!!!

n565 51.4gr
Berger 175
.052 from the lands
2890fps
ES 3-6fps (all year long no matter of temperature here in texas)
.150 on a bad day.

61.2 - 61.6 gave me the same accuracy i just split it in the middle. and went with the 61.4 think i got better es with the 61.4 than the others.

Almost exactly my load for the 175s. But I am not getting that same speed, though I know that load produces that accuracy and speed. I am only getting 2708 in 24" bbl with about 100 rounds through it. Accuracy is the same.

H1000 for ultimate stability, but lower velocity.
RL23 for great velocity and good stability.
N565 for great velocity, good stability, but a bit dirty.
