I'm sure I missed something because one time a friend goes you don't have a 308??? Nope. Well whats this??? He picks up one. It's a 308! Oh I guess I have a 308. Well when did you shoot it last? I replied I've never shot that one yet. Owned it 10+ years.

Anyways thinking... but lots won't be available as it's not like being at a big show in Texas etc.
340 WBY
8 mm RM (really like the idea of it)
257 Roberts (probably rechamber to 257 AI just cause that looks like a sexy cartridge)

I want a 375 WBY just in case a bull elephant tries to get into the house with our cold weather.
378 Weatherby.

I want the 375 WBY because it basically the 375 H&H improved. You can buy ammo for it but if you need to... you fire 375 HH and you have perfect 375 WBY fire formed shells. But can't find one up here. WAH WAH

You sure will be paying a lot for a Weatherby head-stamp…..when, the AI and the Weatherby are essentially ballistic twins! 🙀 But, for all of that extra cash spent, you get that "cool" double radius shoulder 😉…what a deal! 🤮 memtb

I have been looking!!! Ran across a Sako Aiii in 375 H&H but it was sold in 1 day. Literally looked at it 1 on one night and it was good the next. I did use a 416 Rigby one time for deer hunting. Thought it was a really cool cartridge. Only gun you can find up here in that is theoccasional Ruger no. 1. Which was what I had used except it was a1B which had the full forend and a 26 inch barrel.
It was fun!!!@

Only WBY cartridge that DOES NOT have the double radius is the 375 WBY.

Left to right... 375 hh then wby then 378 and didn't read what the last is.

Is there a 375 Weatherby? I know there's a 378 which is same case as the 460 necked down. Much larger that 375 H&H. I told a story on a thread here awhile back . A man at the range had a 460, 378, 340 and 300 Weatherby rifles. I was shooting my 7mm Rem Mag. I had never shot anything bigger than 30.06/7mag. I was about 18 yrs old. My best friend was with me. I was watching the guy shoot his Weatherby's and thinking holy cr@p ! He asked if we wanted to shoot them. Heck ya ! I shot 460 first. I thought it gave me a concussion. Shot 378 next. Recoil felt about same to me. 😳 The 340 felt mild after those two. The 300 no big. My friend started off with 300 first. 😆 Then 340. I saw his eyes get big after that shot. He shot the 378 and said screw that. He didn't shoot the 460. 😆 I told him you should of shot the 460 first. Razzed him on that for a few years after 😉

The story with Roy Westherby and the 378 is kind of funny. Apparently when he developed it they went on an elephant hunt. Well he shot one (can't remember where) and when someone asked what the recovered bullet looked like one of the local people said it's still flying over the plains... lol

The AI and the .375 Weatherby are nothing more than an improved H&H! Drop by the house sometime and I'll let you send a few rounds of AI downrange! memtb

Honestly I think my ONLY reason was a buddy wants/wanted to go in a safari. And knowing me... he was like what gun would you take? My initial was the 378... but when I started to read about ammunition problems with being able to only take limited ammunition (and I have no clue if this has changed or not) but 375 H&H is available everywhere. So you take your 375 WBY with hitting power that's more that the H&H but not as potent as the 378 and if you run out of ammo... walk in and buy H&H and keep shooting!!!

Now I'm a guy who doesn't hesitate blasting at coyotes running at 800 yards with whatever is in my hand. Be that $2/shell 308 or $10/shell 30-378. I'm CUTTING LOSE lol

I just don't know the velocity spreads between the three. I think... but don't know that it's basically like going 308... 30-06... 300 WM. Same sort of scenario with 375 H&H... 375 WBY... 378 WBY but i am not at home so don't have access to my reloading manuals for EQUIVALENT loadings.
