Why Shoot Hammer Bullets

Aimed for mid shoulder, 5 mph wind caused me to hit forward of shoulder 6" or so.

Every animal I've shot with Hammers has traveled a bit, including this one...

I've experienced all three; DRT, a few yards and 65yd-100yd. All had significant damage to vitals. I really don't think that you can judge a Hammer, or any other bullet, by how far the critters travel after a fatal hit. Berger bullets probably have more DRT results due to the frangible nature of the bullet but there are plenty of negative results surrounding their use too.

Two white tail does a few weeks ago , one shot with a 124 gr 6.5 hammer 3400 fps deer ran 50 yds lung and shoulder shot , 225 yds ,great blood trail and exit . The other 6.5 ,121 gr hammer 3200 fps ,100 yds , DRT. HIGH SHOULDER SHOT. That is what I like about hammers shoulder shots no more meat loss than behind the shoulder a good exit and a deer that will drop in his tracks .

I can't open the spreadsheet on this computer...but i'll add the 3 deer ive shot with hammers:

mule deer buck. 7mmRM, 172gr Absolute Hammer. shot distance, 40 yards. Deer ran 20 yards, then tumbled more down the mountain, but that was just gravity. Double lung destruction, no idea how he made it 20 yards.

Whitetail doe, 6.5creed, 123gr absolute hammer. shot distance 140 yards. deer dropped instantly.

whitetail doe, .22-250, 70gr hammer hunter. double lung, ran ~45 yards, lungs destroyed. shot distance 130y.

Good points, IMO if you use a bullet enough sooner or later they'll do something that makes you go hmm........................

Most all of them will do one just fine. There isn't any real magic in any of them.

I like doing my business locally and I think that they're customer service is off the charts and I'm a fiend for that.

Exactly what I've been saying for a long time. There's only ever been one "magic" bullet documented in history and if you know the story of the JFK assassination you'll know that even that thing didn't expand or deform at all!!!

Man I've shot so many things with them. I can say not all mine are dropped Ed but I shoot mainly behind shoulder to save meat. If I had to guess avg 20-30 yards is all they go.
I've gotten lazy and even stopped looking for blood just walk in general direction and bam.
Only ever had to go back and track blood a few time and they still didn't go far just not where it thought they did
