Defiance Action Updated Pricing

I don't think it will set off any increases elsewhere. As said above, someone buys a business and wants to immediately get their money back. Big Horn crept up slightly on their origin pricing from launch to now, but they also changed the material (chrome moly > stainless) and finish (blued > nitrided). I haven't kepted up with anyone else's pricing. Aero Precision will likely come in at a lower price point. If you look at MSRP vs street price on their stuff a $1000 MSRP on their action will be available a good deal cheaper a year or two after launch.

Question would be what action takes their place for around $1000? Defiance tenacity were a fabulous action for less than a grand. I think I would pick Big Horn. I'm not sure what a lone Peak, bat or impact actions run For their intro/budget line

Nothing wrong with the Big Horn/Zermatt. I'd personally pick up an ARC Nucleus.

Our standard steel actions retail for $1050 with an integral recoil lug and our skeletonized "Shadow" actions retail for $1100. Nitride is available on both for an additional $50 and cerakote is available in the retail pricing. I'm not trying to be "that guy". However, there are still several options available in the $1000 range.

I don't think you're being "that guy" at all. The question was posed & you responded with a viable alternative.

If Defiance wants to price themselves out of that part of the market, no skin off my back.

If I was making a product and backlog was 18 months i would raise prices to reduce demand to something manageable - less than 6 mo.

Yep. I've listened to the podcast and hope that more people do too. I work in manufacturing, managing projects with companies ranging from one-man shops, to the largest defense contractors. I haven't walked the floors of Defiance Machine (yet...maybe one day I'll have the privilege), but the podcast offers another perspective on this situation that I hope more people will listen to. Thanks for sharing.
