After market stock options…

Yes. The old M40A1 with the Unertl was 40 obj. I had to use iso mat (aka pillow) wrapped with riggers tape.

I had a HTG on a 300 WM and just couldn't get it right.

Manners (EH2) has a very similar stock (I like it better). Basically the same except it is more of a parallel to the deck vice the angle of the McMillan. Not sure if Manner's inlets for Weatherby, but surely you could get a flat top.

I am not a hater, I have four McMillans, but my "hunting style" stock is a Manners EH2. I also have a McMillan "Ruger" style and it actually sits very nice with a 1" tube and 42mm obj.

My first and original choice was an EH3 and would love if they would inlet one for me! I guess I'll call them tomorrow. The HTG is just the closest McMillan option to that EH3 I could find.

McMillan M40/HTG
So the really cool one isn't mine🤪

And Manners MCST. The EH2 just has a narrower channel for thinner barrels, but I have carbon in one now. It is fine.

If you draw a line from the receiver/bolt straight back, you'll see the drop I am talking about.

I am a loyalist.

I learned on that rifle, but they are not as ergonomic as they could have been.
Your EH2 actually looks very similar to my Grayboe Terrain which I really like. (It's just heavy. Claimed 36oz but my scales showed just over 40oz)
I may need to look into the EH2 as another possibility.

They got the comb setup figured out just right on the Grayboe then because that Leupold in "low" Talleys is perfect prone, but I bet it wouldn't be bad with a 50mm objective and "medium" rings either.

The HTG may be your stock. They said it can be inletted for the Weatherby so may be your best bet.

Manners lightest is 25 oz on this, but no mention of Weatherby, so definitely call them about a flat top if you want lighter. Then have your smith inlet for it.

This is my 300 RUM with a Carbon Six barrel, Rem "lightened" action, Hawkins BDL, and Manners EH2.

(Different scope on the scale, trying to go as light as possible)

FWIW, I sent a message to Manners to see if they would work. He stated if you got a flat top, he would'nt gaurantee it would work.

So I guess they are out...
