280 AI and 6BR for wife build help

I am curious how you like the 280 AI in the ultralite, I got my mom one in 6.5 creed but really just got it. Then my brother in law saw it and wants one in 280 AI so I will gladly take your impressions on the rifle to pass on to him.
Out of the box it was shooting 300 MOA. I purchased a Tukka tx3 lite in 6.5 PRC and while I am happy with the purchase/gun, overall I like the Savage more. I am a wilderness hunter out here in the west so the weight of things are important to me, the only 2 thing I can say that might be a negative is, that as far as ling range shooting out pass 500- 600 yards I wish I was a little heavier (more stable), and I am not a small guy but a baby when it comes to kick as I mentioned I put the MAC'S muzzle break on it an while loud now, It kicks less then my 25-.06. Hope this helps.

Getting all the pieces together. Went with a Masterpiece Arms Hybrid chassis, Bartlein 24"cf in Remington Varmint contour . Trigger Tech Diamond trigger, Origin sa. This is for her 6BR. Wanted to keep it light to mimic her hunting rifle. With the hybrid chassis can add weight to it if she wants to.

Again building this 6BR for my wife for practice up to 600 yards. Don't have any place to shoot farther. Looking at putting a SB EXOS 3-21x50 on it. I know it is a hunting scope and not really a target scope. What do you think?

Getting closer! The wife's 6BR is almost ready to go. Ended up using Bartlein CF barrel, DT trigger,Origin action, MPA chassis. Going to use her VX5 for now. Need to save some money for scope. Wives are really expensive 🤔

Really nice RIG. You are a lucky man to have a wife that likes to shoot and hunt with you. Every new firearm for her is another one for you.
We just got one of the new Vortex HDIII 6X36X56. (today) Will go on Jill's 6mmBR or the 6.5X284 or the 338LMAI. We got (2) NF ATACR 7X35X56 end of 2021 so have a variety. Really like the new Vortex!! but will mostly be shooting BR, "F" Class and ELR.
What are you thinking to put on top???

Len & Jill

I think once you get to shoot the 6BR you won't want to give it the wife back. The best part about 6BR is that it is inherently accurate with a lot of powder and bullet choices,600yds is easy meat for the 6BR,you'll love it.

How about an update on 280AI? I'm in the middle of similar build and can only live vicariously through others right now. Same with the suppressor with an order on the Ultra 7 this past weekend. I hope I am still alive and kicking when everything is in and finished.

Just specced out a rifle for a buddy who wanted a lighter rifle for up to elk, and suppressed.

Defiance AnTi LA
Defiance alloy Picatinny rail
22" 1:8.4" Proof Sendero Light
TBAC CB w. TBAC Ultra 7
Manners EH1 (you could add their Elite ultralight cheek piece)
Hawkins M5 BDL bottom metal
Wyatt's box w. Staggered feed follower
Triggertech Diamond
ARC M10 30mm low rings
Vortex Razor LHT 4.5-22×50
I was waiting on his rings to come in, so I slapped my personal Premier Heritage Light Tactical 3-15x50 on it for testing. Also used my Ultra 9 while he waits for his Ultra 7.
Rifle as seen weighs 9lbs 6oz scoped and suppressed. Once I install his scope and his Ultra 7, should finish right around 8lbs 12oz scoped and suppressed. If no suppressor was installed, should be right at 8lbs 4oz scoped and braked. Making bare rifle around 6lbs 5oz.

Peterson brass
CCI BR2
56.8gr RL23 (the exact load he uses in his daughter's. 280AI)
175 Elite Hunter

ES 8 across first 10 rounds down the barrel

Shots 4/5/6 out of the barrel into .307" (after 1/2/3 to zero)

Shot #7 @ 100 yards....if it can shoot a fly, it can easily shoot a deer/elk.
