Best Bedding Material

It's been s few years since I used any Bedding Material. Been working mostly of Chassis stocks. Going to be building high end "F" Class and ELR rifles putting the best components together.

I always liked the Steel Bed from Brownell's
Easy to work with, stays where you put it and big magnums don't break it down over time.
And it can be mixed with dies to color it.

This is the absolute best, we use it at work. I use it for bedding, follow all the same prep and release agent suggestions as any material used for bedding. No shrinkage and easily machined.

You won't go wrong with any of those listed above. I would add Devcon and Marine-Tex.

+ 1 for Marine-Tex. I've been using it for bedding rifle actions since the 1970's with never a problem. It works great on boats too!

There are several "Bests." Doing some research, finding some great tips and tricks, and then practicing will help you become a "Better Bedder."

Like I said I use Devcon but a friend of a friend bought Pro Bed 2000 kit and had me use that and I had no problems at all.
Job came out great.
Marine Tex is great also.
Will look into Darryle's bedding compound also.
I used one compound that shrunk after drying and won't use that again.
