0-600yrds target caliber

Hi everyone,
Im looking to have a new built on a rem 700 short action that I got.
Rifle will ne use for 600yrds range target.

Have a 284win, 7mm rem mag, 7mmm08, 2 308, one will give is action.

As you see im a 7mm fan and with the rem mag im well equiped for long range hunting.

I do think solding one 308 and go full custom but I like to use what I got at home.

Im looking at the 6mm dasher but im open to any idea.

I dont mind single feeding my rifle.

"In October 2017, U.S. Special Operations Command tested the performance of the 7.62x51 NATO, .260 Remington, and 6.5 CM cartridges out of SR25, M110A1, and Mk20 sniper rifles. SOCOM determined that the 6.5CM performed the best, doubling hit probability at 1,000 meters (italics mine) increasing effective range by nearly half, reducing wind drift by a third and having less recoil than the 7.62 NATO rounds…"

Deer to 400.....
If you were to read the first post in this thread, the OP was looking for a target specific rifle, not one to deer hunt with, so your reply has absolutely no value to the OP.

That answer is like giving an answer of "The lake is frozen" when someone asks "Is the sky cloudy today"?

I just had Seekins Precision build me a 7 mm mag. I could not find any burger 180 grain VLD hunting bullets. So I wound up with EOL 195 burger elites. Getting ready to do load developing. According to the charts I should have sufficient Energy at 1000 yards to deploy the bullet

I'm a 6mm BR fan myself, inherantly accurate out to 1200yds.I found I did very little work finding a load most powers and bullet combinations worked for me, try it you'll love it.

For 600 yd targets. 6XC, 7-8 twist barrel, 105-115 gr bullets. Just ask David Tubb

I read the recommendations and could agree with many different choices, just depends on your bend. I have several custom 6XC giuns with Schneider 7.5 twist polygonal cut per advice from David Tubb, these are great performers. I also have a couple of 243 AI same barrel set up, killer good there also. I have a passion for the 250 AI and there may not be a more accurate round for quarter bore guns, I have 4 in this round. The 260 AI is another multiple in my arsnel, Schneider 8 twist polygonal cut, these guns all get pleny of work out on our feral pig population. One thing about this group we are all a great at helping you spend your money. Good luck and let us see the results of your selection.

I recently bought a Bartlein 6mmARC 7.5 twist, heavy MTU contour, 26 inch barrel for practice and to tighten my groups. Haven't shot it yet because I'm still waiting for American Rifle Company to make the bolt face in that size.

For practice and for club matches at a military range, I remove my 28 Nosler barrel from my hunting rifle (American Rifle Co. Nucleus, long action) and install a Criterion match .223 barrel. It outshoots all the other guns (mostly ARs) in our small club at all ranges out to 600 yards.

I'll neck down 6.5 Grendel brass until Honardy or someone else comes out with 6mmARC brass.

The 223 has been a good practice cartridge for me to 600 yards, and I'm hoping that the 6mmARC will be even better.

Hornady is making 6mm ARC brass. GA Precision has it on their website, just not currently in stock.
