6.5x284 124 HH load data

Aloha all

I just got a cpl boxes of 6.5 124 gr Hammer Hunter bullets from my cousin. He doesn't like them and gave them to me. So l figured I'd give em a try.

I looked at the compilation put together and only found 1 load from dougduey. Wondering if anyone else has load data for this bullet in 6.5x284.

26" proof 1-7.5 twist stiller predator LA using accurate mag. Currently shooting berger 130 gr VLDH

Mahalo for any info you can provide, I'll also do some searches to see what l come up with.

Drop them over your 130 load ladder, or use nosler load data for the 130 accubond or barnes data for the 127 lrx. Both have provided good starting references for the 124hh

Not sure what powders you have, but if they are part of Hogdon lineup, then go to there webpage and check what other weight class loads are being used for starting data.

That's what l was gonna do with them just run them over my 130 load ladder and see. Wanted to see what powders/primers etc others were using.

I have all Alliant except Re23. H100v, H1000, H4350, H4831 & H4831sc, H4895, Varget, all enduron powders and many more. I have all cci, Winchester, Remington, federal primers

Hodgdon load data center for 120gr has a starting load of 55gr and end with 58.5gr with H1000. They have all the load data for all the powders you have in Hodgdon.

Tuning in. Have one on the way and planning on shooting same bullet. Only issue is im going with a 22" barrel. Should i just figure that 26" barrel loads wont work for 22" or would i be able to use the same to get close? Dont mean to hijack the op's thread so feel free to pm. Thanks

I wish l had some Re23 its the only Reloder powder l dont have. I wish we could order by the pound and have it shipped liked the mainland. For Hawaii, l need to order a minimum of 100# powder in order for them to ship.

I used to do that a bunch but these days with limits and buying craze. There's no way l can order powder anymore

I've used H4841 with the 124 in 2 barrels on the 6.5-284 (on my second barrel now, first was a factory Savage). Both shot tiny groups. Should find a very accurate lower node around 3140 fps and if you can push it, you'll hit the higher node about 100 fps faster.
This load will destroy any Axis or Mouflan you shoot.
If you really want to have some fun, get the 109 gr Absolute Hammer. I've got mine going 3511 fps and sub 0.5 moa. I'm zeroed at 300 yards, so it's a hold on fur out to about 440 yards. This is my pronghorn setup for the end of August.
