Getting ready to start testing for a 22" Remington 700 sporter. This will be my primary whitetail gun. I'm planning to go with 140 gr Nosler BT bullets. Not really sure where to start. I have the following powders- H4350, IMR4350, 7828ssc, H4895. Using Hornady brass and I have F210 primers. Any personal experiences would be appreciated. Thank you

I tried 46.5 IMR4350 and 139 SST and didn't have much luck with that. Couldn't get it below 1.5". I didn't work on it much after that

The 7mm 08 seem to be finicky. Mine were an Encore and a Ruger American - nothing fancy but once you get it dialed in, it is as deadly on deer as any rifle I've seen.

I agree. It is, by far, my favorite deer caliber. I've killed deer with one since I was little. Can only think of a couple that I didn't shoot with a 7-08

I don't care for the SST. Seem to explode on impact and mine ended up in a long tracking job. The interbond has the same ballistics just better construction.
I've seen some very good performance out of the SST, but I've also seen it explode in a shoulder and not recover the deer. That's why I'm moving away from it

Of the powders you listed H4895 and H4350 are the best options. That's just my experience and I've been using this cartridge for quite a while now. You'll provably be crunching powder kernels with H4350 though. I would try H4895 first.

The 140gr Ballistic Tip is a great option.

Got to agree with LVJ76 here when you can get your hands on some varget try it also the 7mm-08 is a heck of a good round and one of my favorites, once you find your load you should be set good luck with it Oh yeah win. 760 works well in this combo also just not as temp stable as the H -4895 or H- 4350

I would use the H4895 then H4350. Far as bullets are concerned I've used Barnes 120 TSX and the 120 TTSX with great success. Complete pass through and plenty of damage.. don't have to worry about shooting between the slats. If you can get your hands on some RL15 or IMR4451 it would be the berries.

I've been loading the 7-08 for about 30 years. I have several of them now and have sold many more over the years. My go to powder is 40 gr of IMR4064. But with H4350, my load is 46.8 gr and 45.6 w/ IMR4350. My best load w/ H4895 is 39.7...more milage w/ this powder. I use Sierra 140gr SBT GK.

Thanks for all the info. I may try to start with H4350. I have a pretty large supply of it, so maybe I can find a good load with it.
