President of Federal, CCI, Speer & Remington ammo: Why ammo is hard to get.

This is an order from 2013....

Dixon said one of the contracts would allow Homeland Security to buy up to 750 million rounds of ammunition over the next five years for its training facilities. The rounds are used for basic and advanced law enforcement training for federal law enforcement agencies under the department's umbrella. The facilities also offer firearms training to tens of thousands of federal law enforcement officers. More than 90 federal agencies and 70,000 agents and officers used the department's training center last year.

The rest of the 1.6 billion rounds of ammunition would be purchased by Immigration and Customs Enforcement, the federal government's second largest criminal investigative agency.

Over five years? So 125 million per year into 75,000 agents is 1,800 annually. Sounds like a trend is developing in this 1,500 to 2k rounds per year number.

That's not mil contracts. Most people have no idea how much ammo the US government orders. Massive amounts. Not BS just a fact.

FWIW - my observation is that every presidential cycle beginning with the Slick Willie regime a ammo/ component shortage would occur. I remember Joe with that smirk when the AR over ten round mag band was passed. But what really bends me out of shape are the Dems selling out the 2A for votes. Thanks for listening!

What exactly encompasses the DOD?
And since you apparently work inside the Gov't you don't make me feel all warm and fuzzy. Government does not stand at the head of the line. Eisenhower was spot on when he warned of the Industrial Military Complex.
