Marks on bullet. What is going on here?!?!

Google this issue on this forum and you will see more than one have had this exact issue. I am surprised they continue to send these out. I guess Q/C means Quick check and in you don't use a check to pay for anything anymore so quick CC exchange.
Has the solution been to true it up from what you've seen? Plan to dig in later today.

After the 2nd time, and they did not get it right. I would be asking for a full refund, and off to a different barrel maker. There's way to many choices out there, that are more than comparable, but the hart wants, what the hart wants..

Don't know if anyone has talked about this, IT'S NOW 5 PAGES INTO IT! lol. but, the Hornady handbook of cartridge reloading, 8th edition, has from page 13 to page 27 very good info on pressure and pressure signs.

I have a CA rifle and have a lot of the same things going on. Its been frustrating to say the least. When I decide to give up trying to figure it out it will not be going back to CA. I will have it fixed by a local gunsmith.

Good luck in your quest, I loathe this crap.
The firearm industry is fun to be part of, been fun watching it evolve over 50 yrs for me. With laws and serial numbered parts, it has annoyed me at times that you cannot just return items for a refund.

Christensen called me this morning. They said they talked with their head gunsmith and that this is normal. Said I could send it back in to them to look at if I wanted to but said it was normal. Am I getting the run around?

If this is normal to them, what constitutes abnormal? I would not want to be in your shoes, or more so, own this normal rifle.

Wow! I can't believe they said that! If I sent it back, it would be on their nickel and l would send the ruined case with it. They should guve you a better explanation.

My buddy had heavily cratered primers( and maybe a few pierced primers) at much lower loads than seemed right. He talked to them, they said they run much stronger firing pins was their excuse...and basically that he should be happier at lower charges. But it shoots fine now.

But it should shoot SAAMI ammo at safe/normal pressures. You get the same issues with new cases, there is a problem. According to Christensen "be happy at lower charges", factory ammo could cause problems and it "should" be designed to shoot factory ammo.

If you handload, you can "down load" per Christensen's guidance, but that is not a right answer either.

OP. Maybe you could write a review from all your experience with this and Len would post it. I bet Christensen would make it right then!!!

Wow if that's what their customer service is like i sure won't do any business with them! For an average price of $2K for one of their rifles I'd rather go elsewhere. My .02 worth.

Not necessarily "Shoot SAAMI Factory loads." Most custom chambers are tight and in a many, custom barrels, the necks have tobe turned to properly fit the chamber , "Case Body sized to specs, Not SAAMI" Also". In other words, No slop, such as we fined in our factory barrels. I almost wanted to ask the question earlier in the post if he tried trimming his brass down a few thou to see if that could be causing the pressure issue. Custom barrels are only as good as the machinist on duty that day. A 100% perfect custom barrel will only preform as well as the Person that installed it, also. I've seen quite a few cases where people have ordered a custom barrel and put it on a stock Rem 700 action and for the life of them could not figure out why it shot like crap. Also I'll say this, I hope it helps some what. My custom rifle is in the beginning stages, I promise you this. I will not be using a Christensen any thing. May be they will see this and turn their nose also. Good luck with this Sir, I truly hate it for you.

So you are saying that all these same issues are because Christensen says to "load less" powder in handloads and not shoot factory ammo? Not buying it.
