No, they are still debating and working on it. I posted it for those using them to be informed and keep tabs on it and not get caught unaware with the changes on it.

The commission is made up of rotating appointments, that require pretty strict criteria on their favorably towards the wildlife and the AZGF mission, proven track records in that area. Not a PETA or a Sierra Clubber in the bunch. These are Governor appointments that only happen on a rotational basis.
The antis would never be considered for this board.

I just remember a podcast with an elk guide from there. He was running 90 something trail cams all over the units he hunts! Hard work and dedication in its own right ,.I get that for sure. He also had bear boxes and locks for all of them, huge investment.
But what got me was when he mentioned how to deal with waterholes and wallows that already had 10 or more cameras on them....I didn't even hear his method. Just the fact of that many others stacking cameras, taking pics of each other and recording every piece of wildlife around...I dunno...what's wrong with a little mystery?
I do enjoy game cams(don't have any currently) , and checking them is like Christmas morning or checking traps. So I guess I'm just rambling here

Have used them a little but not until recently (last two 2 years). Not sure they have helped me any as far as harvesting an animal. But they sure are fun to look at. Probably don't know how to use them, but they are a lot of work

With as few officers spread over vast areas, I have my doubts, but if you get caught, especially a guide, you are doomed. Plus many others (hunters and knowledgeable non hunters) will report it to the Operation Game Thief hotline. Fair is fair.

Or the "Rim Ripper". A guy here had his entire camp stolen and had a game cam set up in camp. All the glorious photos on that cam and him, wife and dog. Arrested today!
Hunter got all his gear back.

This is a dangerous slippery slope for all if us. "Unfair advantage" etc is commonly perceived with trail cams. Ok, you still have to have skill to hunt a specific animal in order to kill it. Oh wait, stand off long range with laser rangefinder with my super high bc high velocity slip stream bullet, high definition optics, carbon wrapped braked barrel which is now on the table as "unfair advantage". Who makes this determination of what is an "unfair advantage"? This can become the antis call to arms going forward. My question is what empirical evidence do they have of "widespread" abuse with trail cams? Outfitters make their living killing animals with clients. If they do not put clients on animals they are out of business. If the issue is how many they have in use, this can be addressed. I can see some concern with cell cams but some thoughts of no hunting within 3 days of photo. Enforcement in all of these scenarios is impossible. Like a lot of different hunting methods if you don't like it dont use them. Getting tired of someone telling me I cant do something just because you don't like it. Simple analogy "change the channel".
