Holy hazmat!!!

What's the deal with these high hazmat fees plus shipping on top? Just capitalism at work during these times?? Just purchased a couple pounds of powder from a certain online retailer... $38 for hazmat then another $32 for shipping??? It's getting ridiculous.. guess I just needed to vent.

Something I do is find out how many pounds that the hazmat fee covers and then I get some of my friends together to place a big order we share the hazmat fee.

You can thank Obama for the fees. I haven't seen a UPS or FedX truck blow up yet from hauling powder. It doesn't come in any special container either. In Mex-lfornia in some county they wanted a finger print, and your address. Stop buying there a long time ago. Not that I had anything to hide, it's just the ideal of it. Mex-lfornia would let you order ammo or powder even if it was shipped to another state, when your credit card address is from Mex-lfornia. Change that and get it. The other is Mex-lfornia has sales tax and Montana doesn't. I know because I was ordering out ammo last year and was stop. It was coming from another state to Montana. Not going to Mex-ifornia at all. A different card took care of that. Shortly I wouldn't have to do anything in Mex-lfornia. I will be completely sold out and not coming back.

If anyone lives in the south central Pennsylvania area, Shyda's firearms in Lebanon PA, right across from the big VA hospital, has a huge selection of powder. They even have the mysterious "Unicorn" of Reloader 26, they didn't have Varget though when I went in so I got an 8lb. of BL(c)2 instead. They must have in total at any one time of probably 400lbs. of powders.

I've got a question for any dealers that sell and ship powder...what determines the hazmat fee? I've seen from $16.95 to $37.00 , I would think that hazmat would be hazmat. Does it vary by state? As far as business's making money from powder sales, how can one place sell powder for $28.95 a pound, with $16.95 hazmat ,and another sells for $32.00 a pound, and $37.00 hazmat? I understand about retail sales in gun shops, I managed one for years in Tx, and I know that pricing is determined by qty ordered, but it doesn't seem parallel with powder and primers....just curious..rsbhunter

Go in with three or four others and do a large order if you need and assume you do, the 8 pounders in the same lot.

Clearly we are being screwed. Many places offer free hazmat at certain times. It can't be that much if they offer it free as a promotion. Wonder why the folks at NRA have not been fighting these bogus fees for us 2nd amendment folks. The places increasing fees during shortages should be ashamed and we should all remember who they are when the shortage subsides. We should all remember to vote, Without excuse! Regardless of some poor conservative decisions, we may not need a forum like this if Biden and friends get in office.
