Load data for 300 PRC

RL26 getting super hard to find here. Came across a deal on some RL25 and loaded some ELD-X 200 gr with 79.5, 79.8, and 80.1 and will try to test tomorrow. Did find a pound of 26 and will load it with eld-x 212 gr first chance I get.

Reloader 26 is like hens teeth here, also. The 75 grain load of H1000 is holding about a 1.75" group @300 for me. That is with 45 rounds down the barrel, so far. Good enough to deer hunt with this year. I will do a full load work up in the spring, after it cools off here.

79.8 and 80.1 put three rounds in one hole but each had two fliers. The lesser (79.8) was just a little tighter at just over an inch. May play with the ogive length to see if it will do better.

In about 2 weeks I'm getting a MOA rifles built 300 prc in a MCMillan carbon dip stock sent to me here in Ca. This is my step back into shooting after 8 years and I'll be getting into reloading as well. MOA is sending me 100 rounds of their hand loaded ammunition they optimized for that setup so I'll probably just emulate that at first then tinker!

You know your results may vary so beware. 81.4 gave me a slight ejector mark so Im right on edge. My barrel seems to be on fast side as factory ELD 225 3000 fps. I sort my brass to within 1.5 grains I dont remember H20 volume off top of my head.

RL26 gave me that kind of speed out of my win mag pushing 212's, but it seemed temp sensitive to me. Groups were a little inconsistent. H1000 seems to work better (for me) in both the win mag and the prc. Glad to see someone making RL26 work!

Can you check my thinking, the lee case trimming die made for the Ruger is able to accommodate the narrower neck and would be able to trim to the proper neck length ranges, the body would be supported but the neck geometry would be looser with the 300 in the die made for a 375 so you would have to trim slowly to not crumple the material but my math says it'll work.

Any thoughts?

Tonight's promotion for MOA rifles, Maybe they'll see this and send me a free hat!For the record I'm a First time customer from this company not a sales person, I think this thing sold itself to be honest

These custom loads are all hitting within 1-2/1000th at 3.660
It's a one and 9.5 twist! that's perfect I was thinking it was going to be at one and nine, I'd rather have a half twist worth of over stabilization than a half twist worth of under stabilization. I don't have a chamber gauge in this caliber, I plan to shoot this weekend and use 2 spent cases to make a chamber length Gage and another one to check ogive to thread contact distance.

Their test target shows .532 outside edge minus .300 for a .23 group. That's really exciting I have another rifle they can hold an eighth of a minute accuracy.
