NRA In Serious Trouble?

I've always disliked the NRA. Never bought into the rich guys gun club.

The NRA has always been for a profit. I don't know why this is news, they've never guaranteed anyone's rights, or that they had the obligation to take on any legal battles at all, they were never founded on that. There involvement in court have been good actions on bad infrastructure. There are plenty of other organizations that have been taking the legal fight on, both in federal and state courts.

The problem is, the NRA has been telling their members they fight unconditionally for our 2A Rights when in fact, they have not. When you WRITE a law to have the government, who, the founders were trying to make sure WE THE PEOPLE had a way to fight Government tyranny, and they write a law for us to get PERMISSION FROM THAT SAME TYRANT, IE, the NICS, they are not protecting anyone's rights OR RESTRAINING THE GOVERNMENT OVERREACH.

I do NOT say "I support the 2nd Amendment BUT". I say, I support the 2nd Amendment PERIOD, as written.

There are only 5 million NRA members, maybe, there are 150-200 million gun owners in the US. We do not need the NRA if we ALL really stood together. The 2A and the Constitution was written to restrain the Government, not to restrain the rights of the the people. We are so busy fighting to protect our rights, we ignore the fact the government isn't being restrained but are in fact abusing their power. With friend like the NRA, who needs enemies, or a tyrannical Government?

1st Gun Rights should not be a Political Talking point because of the 2-A. 2nd this post has gone full ****** as I see we've even discussed MARX and his Utopia of Lies. 3rd lets get the two Commie experts in the Ring and sell tickets.... actually anyone with a Degree in Communism qualifies.

1) It's a liberty not a right. It can be amended away. That may be difficult to pull off, but it can be done. If you don't like a polyarchic form of govt then you you're SOL.

2)Why the butt-hurt? It's a conversation. Chill pill, homeboy.

3)There's no "let's/let us". If anyone is selling tickets it's my commie expert bro and myself. I'll damned if I educate you or anyone else and not get a solid cut of the dough, ignoramous.

Get out of here with you ill-mannered, belligerent, ignorant, inconsiderate, condescending responses. Be constructive, hack.

Anytime anyone resorts to Sentence Structure or Grammar or Insults for the sake of debate they literally have a lost cause and/or are a shallow hack. I'm not "Butt - Hurt", it anyone is it's you. I find it all very Comical. In Fact "BigGrizz" I find that you have aligned yourself as a Leftist - Liberal and you are now Exposed as such.

*** are you talking about?

I just bought a new AR last night. Lots of liberals advocating for the purchase of those now, huh?

I grew up in WY oil fields and now have a career in Finance. I'm the poster boy of the left's ire. Lol!

You're a jackass, dude.

What is a Liberty not a right?

Anything granted in the Bill of Rights. It's semantical, I agree. However, the moment you claim it as a right you take it for granted that it can't be taken away.

Any constitutional amendment can be repealed. Difficult? Yes. Improbable? Idk. Impossible? No.

Rights are perpetual and irrevocable. Liberties are granted by that which has a monopoly on the legitimate use of force.

It can get philosophical, but that's the jist of it.

The Bill of Rights only AFFIRMS the top 10 God-given/natural rights. They do NOT grant permission to them. These are not granted rights, therefore NOBODY, including the government (no matter how tyrannical they get), has the ability to take them away if you are a free person.

It could be repealed from the Constitution, but it will never happen. Also, even if they did repeal it, it would change nothing. Law-abiding citizens will still be able to buy guns, and liberals will still be bitching about it, because it is not a government-granted right...It's the right to self-preservation, and nobody has the just-cause to take that away from you.

If the government passed a law tomorrow that said we didn't have the right to free speech, or the right to free worship, or freedom of the press, would those rights no longer exist, or would they be simply denied? If the Constitution is amended depriving us of our rights, do those rights cease to exist?

What's the answer?

The answer, according to the guys who set up this country, is yes, we would still have those rights. We're just being denied them. Because of that, it's the way we have to look at the Constitution. The Founding Fathers believed they existed and that's how this country was set up. Rights are something that come with being human. The Founders never believed we got them from the government. If and when the United States goes away, the rights will still be there.

I told you it's a point of philosophy and semantics when you get down to it. You and I agree. That doesn't mean everyone agrees with us. That's the point.

When the people who disagree are trying to destroy our Constitution to deny us our individual God / Natural given rights, there is nothing semantic about it.

Question is, are gun owners gonna stand up and fight all of these infringements or roll over and play dead?

I think we are ready see the answer to that, don't we?

Evidently, hunters and shooters don't worry about inconsequential things. I've talked to many and they act like they couldn't Care less. Or, they're not worried about it and say it will never happen.

Don't fall asleep at the wheel folks. You will crash.

What is a Liberty not a right?

A simple answer and the reason, exactly, why the NRA and all 2A absolutists are in trouble:

1) The 1st amendment is not absolute. You cannot say anything, anywhere. If you doubt me, talk openly about bombing the flight you're on, and my point will be clear.

2) Right now, we have had gun regulation and it includes, registration, restrictions on automatic weapon, nuclear devices, etc.

3) There is no **** way that I'm going to let a retarded Adam Lonza have free rein to weapons, as real common sense 2A responsibility, if I see any such situation. If I see a situation where the theater shooter has been found mentally ill but several doctors, I could care less that he is flagged as one that lost his RIGHT and LIBERTY.

So let me ask your question back, given these realities, what is a liberty and what is a right?

Note - Thanks for the edit. This is just my opinion, Nobody has to put up with us except for our friends and loved ones.
