In California Moonbeam Jerry Brown signed a law to reduce a lot of felonies to misdemeanors. Now you can break into a home and steal guns and it will be charged as a misdemeanor if your lawyer can argue the value is less than about $900. In San Francisco they can sell heroin right in front of cops without being hassled.

If it were not for children and grandchildren I would have left Kalifornistan long ago. The American Redoubt movement intrigued at looking at those states, then came the Appalachian Redoubt. I've looked at both regions favorably. As retired USAF, I have had an opportunity to live in decent states, AZ, FL, SC, TX, with time spent in my birth state MT, and TDY to UT, NV, NM, VA, NC, GA, AL you get a feel for what is going to be the best fit. I think the state that will have the best environment you desire are going to be ID MT WY.

The Irony to me is that if the socialists gain control over all the branches, it's not going to really matter where you live when it comes to living free. It will come to frontlines or the AOR rear. Pie will get sliced up, there's not really any doubt in my mind. I will say that if you are in Northern Kalifornistan, then you'll probably like southern ID. I'ts like near Oroville, Paradise, Sierra Foothills region. Albeit Huntin n Fishin is off the hook in ID.

I'm a California native (SF/Bay Area/Sacramento), but moved to Michigan in the fall of 1989 to go to graduate school. I will never go back due to the political climate, economics, and policies the liberals have put into action. I moved to Denver,CO in 2007. Loved it but also watched the political climate change there, too. Got the elk bug bad. Had land in the southern part of the state with elk, mule deer, pronghorn, turkey, black bear and coyotes. We also had a nice herd of bighorn in the area. You could probably get it cheap from my ex wife since the only reason she wanted it was due to the fact she knew how much I loved it. Denver and Boulder are the liberal havens in the state. Otherwise, most of the state is pretty darn conservative. The problem is that metro-Denver runs most of the state and its policies
That being said, I relocated to San Antonio, TX in 2013. This state does not make stupid laws like California. It's a good conservative, flag flying, love your country and the 2nd Amendment state. My business partner is originally from Paradise, CA (the town that burned to the ground a few months ago for those that don't know). He, too, will NEVER move back to California.

SO,... the state of "ID MT WY"? That would put you in Yellowstone Park, wouldn't it? :-D

Yup--I attended UCD in the late 70s and early 80s as both an undergrad and electrical engineering grad student. It's changed a lot. I can't even stand to visit the place today (and not just because of the anti-gun brainwashing environment--there's plenty of other dogma being spread to diseased minds there).

BTW, UCD employs a very active and well-known anti-gun professor who propagates all the gun-grabbers' brainwashing in his "work" (posing as a respected PhD. academic sort). I don't recall his name. I keep getting beg-a-grams from the UCD Alumni Assoc. and other fund raising groups. I won't send the enemy a dime! I've never even set foot on the Hillsdale College campus but it's the kind of institution that I can voluntarily support.
I'm a 1989 graduate of UC Davis. Like you, I can't believe how much the town and university has changed. I'd love to know who the professor is that you mentioned. I have a few gun owning/2nd Amendment loving fraternity brothers that live in Davis that may or may not know about him.
My roommate in grad school in Detroit went to Hilsdale. I heard nothing but great things about it while I lived in Michigan.

If you are planning to see Yellowstone...good luck...i drove thru there once
Never a need to go back..and as I have been told..no off season..caravans of buses toting piles of orientals up there....i have never been to disneyland or Disneyworld or Vegas.....have heard howxmany people there area back to back............I WILL NEVER GO BACK....to Yellowstone...never stepped out of my rig til I hit a roadside geyser....
As to generations of a Californian.....i am fortunate to been born as a first generation Oregonian..but am also a 7th generation Californian....my dads forefathers came over with Cortez and raped and pillaged their way from central america....made settlements all the way up the coast to SF before they decided to head back to Monterey.....a grandfather had a land grant from the Spanish king for a million acres south of SF...was confiscated by the US after the war.........moms side came across on the Mayflower and someone along the line snuck into the northeast well before that...he may have been with the Knights Templar...maybe part of the treasure of Oak Island is supposed to be mine...........maybe.....lol...

Wyoming was the first state to pass a law that if any Federal agent or law enforcement office came to their state to inforce federal gun law they would be arrested . A few other states followed with simalier laws. Wyoming has balls.
I may have it worded wrong but that's basically it. It was an in your face Obama Obummer law.
