Just curious what cartridges everyone has found rl 26 to be good in. I am going to start working up a 260, 284, 30-06, 300 win mag, 340 wby, and 7wsm very soon and currently have h1000, h4350, rl16, and a few others on the shelf already. I may snag some rl23 and 26 if I can find any. rl 26 seems like it works really well in 284 and maybe in 30-06 and 260.

Currently using rl 26 with 7STW 77 grains with Berger 180 VLD, and 300 RUM 91 grains with Federal 175 edge tlr.

Im not a RL fan but my 260 loved 4350 with Barnes,Berger, and SMK.
3006 loved 4831sc.
Varget for heavies in my 338ss
N570 in my 6.5 Sherman.

Rl26 in 6.5 creed, 243,243ai, 270, and 7mag. 3100fps+- in the 7mag in 3 different rifles with the 162amax 3055with the 183 sierria is where it shoots best but we also saw the same speed in the lone 9tw I've loaded for.
3340 in a 243ai and the old 105 amax 27"8tw
3140 with no pressure in the 270 140GC
2855 147eldm 6.5 creed 24" stock savage
These are the cartridges and speeds I shoot them at. All but the 183/7mag load are comfortably below max pressure. The 183 load is not my rifle and I have not shot or seen the brass from summer heat to comment.
The 243ai is loaded long 2.930 but not excessively hot either
Rl 16 in the 06 should be really good if it will shoot as fast as you can push the bullets. I saw great speed in the creed but it didn't shoot as well at top pressure like Rl26

I shoot with 200 grain in 300 Win Mag and 130 grain in 270. It's magic as to velocity in the 270. It will give you more velocity in a 300 WM than any other powder I've tried (safely).

I have been very pleased with RL26 in my 7mm WSM. I can find another powder that approaches its performance with heavy bullets. I just wish I could find some more because I want to do as you with 300WM, and others.

It's been a star performer for me so I'd say try it before taking the word of anyone. It's been well reviewed by experienced handloaders in a number of articles. I shoot it in a 270 and it's stable over about a 2 grain load differential, something I usually never see. There's also a reason it's out of stock everywhere.
