I have 13 NR points, what any legal weapon unit and season would be your first choice.

Not sure but one thing I do remember about NV mulies is, they are extremely gamey to eat. All that sagebrush really plays heck with the meat.

How big of a buck would you be satisfied with 170-180 or are you looking for something bigger? There are a lot of people the put in for the 194 tag around reno but honestly not sure if it is as good as it once was, the bonus is that it is a rut tag and runs a long time. I have seen some good deer come out of area 7 late and 6 for that matter but not sure if it would be worth that many points. I have not spent much time out by Ely so I don't know much about those areas.

I'm looking at mostly the 6's and 7's late and south into the Ruby's. I'm like everybody else, the bigger the better. LOL
Im definitely not afraid to work for one, I have done it all my life especially almost 30 years here in Montana.

With that many points don't put in for the Ruby's not that it is bad hunting but it is an easy draw. I don't know much about 221, there was a lot of country that has burned in area 6 the last couple years and 7 took it prettty bad last year but I think that I would go late 7. The bull in my profile pic is from area 7.

I drew 231 with 11 points. Saw some big bucks. Saw same bucks that I saw when scouting in Sept. on opening day. Same spot too. Also some nice bulls and a lot of wild horses.... but it's Nevada. They are everywhere .

I have 13 points, ended up putting in for 221-223 first choice second 132 -134 second and 241 third

Yeah I'm trying to decide if around Ely 111-113, 221 or late farther North
I know you applied already . I hunted 111-113 in 1989. Lol. I know... I saw a lot of bucks but nothing bigger than a 20 in. 3x3. I went twice. Hunted the last few days before heading to Wyoming. Same thing. I was hunting hard . A lot of hiking all over. Maybe had been a bad time. I did find an awesome muley skull though. Nice big full of mass antlers . I'm sure a lion kill. I've found them in other states also. Always nice bucks. I think the bucks choose to fight and not run like does ??? Once In Wy. I had a lion about 75 yards from my tent at night feeding on a nice muley buck in the middle of the Chugwater river. A big stream is what it looks like. He was making all kinds of noise . Probably ****ed he couldn't get it to land. Lol. I got up and shined my flashlight on him yelled and through rocks at him. Next morning the whole deer that was above the water had been eaten to the bone. Looked like a skeleton. I told the rancher . He asked why the hell didn't I shoot it. I said I thought about it but I didn't want to rip off s shot at 10pm. Thought he would hear or a game warden or whoever . Should of done it. I drug the buck out of river. Have pics of it. Don't know why I told you that story...

This is my 16th year I quite buying points at 13. I've got enough sunk into this tag.
LOL

A guide in Southern Nv area Bullridge Guide Service posted a while back their top choices for muley rifle choices. It was 221-223, 131-134, 111-113, 231 all late hunts. They hammer some giants.
