As you can see there is a pronounced ring just above the belt. If I adjust the die to remove it the shoulder gets bumped .005-.006. I have read that is way too much. Solutions please? I'm about ready to pull this barrel & replace it with a non belted caliber!!! Thanks. BW

You've certainly got a problem there but the fact that it's a 7RM is not the cause. I've reloaded a ton of 7RM and never seen that issue.

Seems like there is maybe a finish quality issue with your dies or something leaving a groove like that.

It may not be the cause but I never had this problem with ANY other cartridge!

I tend to agree with you on that. I too have loaded many a 7 RM case and never had that problem. Perhaps trying a different set or brand of dies would solve the problem.

Well I'm trying to get opinions before I go & spend a ton of money trying different dies. This is my first venture into belted cartridge & it sucks!

64, perhaps your dies need to be checked. If possible returned and exchanged to where you purchased them. Like others here, I've loaded for seven 7mm Remington mags but never seen that. The 7mm Remington is one of my favorite calibers, you can hunt anything in North America. Good luck

this happens after you full length size the brass? can you measure your unfired brass in that area and your fired brass?
it looks like your die is working the brass a lot in the body. are you using case lube?
