Lightweight mountain rifle barrel

Hi I am looking at getting a lightweight rifle built. I have been spending to much time looking into barrel contours and I'm starting to go in circles haha.

Plan right now is to build a 300ss on a Ti short action. I was looking over some of the different barrel contours and wasn't sure what would be to light or heavy for a lightweight 30 cal short mag. Then I googled the Kimber 300 wsm contour and found a print of it. Here are the specs on the Kimber.

1.260″ dia. For 2.5″ then 1.125″ dia. for 1.125″ then radius down to .805 then st. taper down to .530″ at 28″

Looking at pics online of the kimber 8400 300 wsm it looks like the first part of the shank that is 1.260" diameter is actually just used for the barrel threads. There is a super small shoulder of say 1/8"-1/4" sticking out from the action then it reduces down to the 1.125" diameter shank. So from what I can tell half of that 2.5" of shank would get cutoff since the barrel tennon is close to 1" from what I googled. Is my understanding correct so far?

If it is then it looks like most companies #1 contour are comparable to the Kimber contour.

Not sure who will flute a #2? I haven't called any barrel makers since I've been working nights and doing all my research then. I should be able to make some calls tomorrow during the day though.

Do you know who will flute a #2?
