All,
Please stop calling the standard 28 nosler saami throat short. Please look at the print. It has .181 freebore. With that it should be able to push the 195s and 197s around 3000 FPS.
Most are confused because the recommended Nosler Accubond coal is around 3.34. Two things. One that bullet likes a jump and is recommended by nosler as such. 2nd because of the ogive type the bullet has a naturally
shorter coal. You load the eldm 180 or the 195s and the coal is around 3.6 with .030 off the lands
Be informed. Read the print for yourself.
Again I'm 3012 FPS with the 195s and retumbo. Never pushed it to see how far I can go.
I'm at 3090 with the 180 eldm. H1000. I'm sure I could get more speed if I try.
I shoot before of these in 90 plus weather here in Texas. I could probably gain 50 FPS by using R33 but I'm hearing it fouls the barrel often and is not temp stable.
Again how much more speed is the specialized chamber achieving?
