Would floating this barrel help me? (A newb's first post)

I agree that the composite stock has got to go, but rather than pull the action, maybe it's time to trade in and up. I now shoot 700LSS in a 7mm RUM, I used to shoot a .270. The RUM is a lot of fun to shoot at the range and can handle long range shooting but works just as well short range hunting.

Anyway, just my thoughts.
