N565 vs RL25

N565 is great for 6.5 prc

Questions like this is why I like Quickload software. You can run hypothetical scenarios with multiple powers, bullets, seating depths, barrel lengths, etc.

While it's not perfect and must be verified, it provides a lot of empirical data to start with.

I agree Mike that it's a invaluable tool however not perfect.The question was more geared towards experience than hypothetical equation.

I burn N565 in my 6.5 PRC 57grs pushes a 143 ELDx 3100 FPS . But that stuff is dang expensive $39 bucks for a LB at Scheels in Reno

Scheels started in Fargo, ND. Been shopping there all my life. Your comment is the exact reason I started this thread. I saw it on the shelf and my mind started to ponder the possibilities.

i load 57.6 gr n565 with 156 Berger with ADG brass and get 1/4 MOA.

Hmm I'm shooting ADG brass also . I know I have room for heavier charge, just don't want top expand primer pockets .

N565 is more temp stable than RL25. Only powders Aliant makes that are temp stable are 16 and 23. Amazingly stable.

N565 out shoots H1000 and temp is great and easy to find today.

I have tried it in my 7 saum. N565 VS H1000. Both were within .1 of a grain for speed and accuracy was equal.

That is great, it is hard to find H1000 now and I don't know the availability next 4 years .
