I bought an EXO and a Kuiu. Both were good, but I kept the EXO since the idea was to pack out a Moose.
So far it's only been used to pack Aoudad, but I like it.

It was the Stone Glacier with the XCurve frame but now it's the EXO K4. Although I haven't packed one out with the K4 yet rucking with weight it seems to work really well. Super comfortable

We carry Kuiu and Mystery Ranch pop up with game bags. Break em down and bag em, hang em. Pack out what we can first trip, then switch to the Badlands OX ( the original one) for the serious stuff. We still have the old Cabela's and Kelty freighters for other guys when we are able to get help.

Initial Ascent, You owe it to yourself to look at this pack frame. I went to western hunt expo in SLC just to look and was planning on buying a Mystery Ranch pack but stopped by the Initial Ascent both and looked at theirs and was so happy that I did. The design of the frame it self is second to none. Carbon fibre with a curve built into it so you can say goodbye to a sweaty back! the weight is on your hips not your shoulders. Bryan Call and Ryan Lambert ( Gritty outdoors) has switch over to it a couple of years ago. I hunt with my all day and if I get an animal down I can pack out how ever much I can carry. There are so many really good packs out there so good luck with your choice.

I've got an EXO 2nd generation with a 2200 and 1800 bags, great packs. I've heard nothing but good stuff about the Gen 4 packs, except they take a little bit to break in and get used to your body.

I prefer the one that straps to a horse's back. Seriously. Over the years I've packed out several elk for hunters that thought they could pack an elk 8-10 miles on a backpack frame

Bull Pac -- from Idaho, they have been making strong lightweight packs specifically for packing for years, and their product warrantly is awesome. I had one that was totally abused by a teenager(not my son) dragging it with weight across a sidewalk and more -- the company would not let me pay for replacement parts and sent everything I needed for free. I bought one and bought another for my son. They still get heavily used about 15-20 years later. Awesome product.
