300. Wsm advice

6.5saum, 270wsm, 7saum, 7wsm, 7-300wsm, 300saum or Rich's SS wildcats.

What mag box/mag does the rifle have? PTG has Bainey mag boxes now that are 3.110" ID but they are only set up for BDL bottom metal.

If I didn't already have a 260. Rem the 6.5 SAUM would be choice number 1. But I don't really need 2 6.5's. Need to fill some other gaps.

The 270. Wsm has always caught my eye. Have you guys tried the 170 gr pull out of them

Matt,

I shoot a Factory Savage 12 BVSS in 300 WSM 26" 1:10" varmit profile factory barrel.
At sea level.

215 Berger
61.8 gr R-17 or 66.7gr R-26(this R26 is a load direct from Berger staff)
2.95 COAL
Win WLRM
win brass with about 7 loads(do have some loose pockets starting to show up)
Both loads shoot about 2840fps and half MOA all day. Verified out to 600 holds .5 MOA.

Based on my experience, the 300WSM can run the 215 Bergers all day long. As of yet it has only taken targets and deer, but it has exceeded every expectation I had.

Hope your deal works out!

Thanks, that's a little more promising! Just waiting to hear back from him. Try not to get too excited
