Took my son hunting for the first time last Saturday it was our youth season here in Ky. He shot a little seven point buck just 40 min after getting in the blind, he is hooked thank goodness. he is nine years old and has been shooting a gun of some sort since he was 6 yrs old. I built him a .243 win off of a savage PTA with a shilen select match barrel ratchet rifleing.

The wife does IDPA but too boring hunting for her :D she wants trigger time & lots of it, no waiting on an animal to happen by for her, thats my experience with 4 daughters & a wife "NOW"

Nothing makes a dad happier than to be with one of his children when they get their first deer or duck :D

My last daughter home is geese & duck, my two boys hunt everything :)

My wife is my regular hunting partner but last year we finally got our youngest daugher to go out with us for her first moose hunt. I finally got her on a decent bull at about 100 yds. She made a clean 1 shot kill with her mom's 300 saum while I was standing beside her. That was a good feeling.

Last year we finally got our youngest daughter to go out hunting with us. My wife and I typically go out for 3 weeks during moose season and our daughter just didn't like the idea of being out in the woods for 3 weeks so we agreed to fly her out early. I found her a nice bull and she dropped it with one shot from her mom's 300 saum. Here's a pic.

My wife grew up bass fishing and deer/squirrel hunting in north Florida. At 68, she still fishes with me but says being cold and damp in the woods isn't as much fun as it was when she was younger. She's not perfect but when I return to camp she always has an excellant meal prepared and that's good too. Had her around for 51 years now, 'bout decided to keep 'er. ??

Thank you, Lord.

My wife went deer hunting with me for the first time last Saturday. She really enjoyed it and wants to go back out after she gets her license and hunt herself.

well im a single dad of a 3yo little girl so maybe next year i'll get her a 338 EDGE!:D For now i will have to "try" to put some meat on the table. my 280AI should be done here soon and we will see about the meat.

Took the wife hunting 2009 season, her first season. First hunting trip was a dammage hunt for whitetail. She shot two less than five min apart.:D Then took her to a friends place, where she dumped a mulie.:D The second to last day of season slept in, staying at my cousin's house, and the wife jumps up, and demands we go hunting. So went to the NF, didn't get 200yds in and she spotted two mulie does, we both had tags. I'd left my rifle all the way in the rear of the vehicle. The deer were aprox 50yds from us. I grabbed the 44mag from under the seat, I didn't know which one she could get a bead on through the trees, so I let her shoot first, mine trotted off a couple of steps, and I took my shot at mine. So last year she plugged four deer, with the 270 Savage she got for her birthday. This year, she's hunting mulies without me:(. I won a year long vacation in Afghanistan.

I get into trouble for using her Blue press she stole from me. I also get into trouble for not taking her to the range with me:)

This next summer my son turns 12. He's indicated that he's interested. I hope to see that he can shoot like his mom does. I know he can, hope he likes it and will stick with it. He has tallent's like that.

Wife tolerates me hunting but really sees it as an unnecessary expense. Eldest son has been going with me since he was 12 - he is 25 now. Daughter listens to Mom too much...

Update: This year is the wife's second season, and she killed her fifth dear. Without me, yesterday, a very nice MT mulie doe.:D

I think I just got a mountain of dust in my eyes.

My wife is a vegetarian so doesn't go hunting with me but she does go fishing both my sons go everywhere with me...

My daughter started hunting again in 2010 after 5 years of not hunting. Her husband did not hunt much. So last spring she told her husband that she was hunting with her dad with or without him. He decided to hunt. I got him a 7mag 3 years ago so he finally used it. My daughter killed her first deer and elk at 13 yrs old. Now she is 23.
