Your, 6.5prc 147 eld-m load

I'm running ramshot magnum lapua brass in two 24" barrels with the 153 a tips same bullet as eld m just different tip at 3030
how many shots are you getting from the lapua brass, I just went through some of my hornady brass last night, 5 the primer fell in on the first firing, these were medium power. And 5 on the second firing the primer fell in the pocket. This is with wlr primers which always seem the smallest. Can't wait until I find some cci or federal.

That's surprising to hear. I shoot my Hornady PRC brass 7x and then toss them even though the primers are still tight. I don't baby the brass either. My favorite load tosses a 156EOL at 2,900 ft/sec from a 23.5" Proof barrel.

I'm hoping it's just a bad batch of brass I've got, my first work up loads I did started at 55 gr h-1000 and the ejector marks you could catch your nail on. Went 1/2 grain up to 59 no pressure at all but each was worse on the mark and most the primers were very easy to seat. I need different primers the wlr are smaller and I think I can get one more load with cci or federal primers

Proven loads in several 6.5 PRC
147 eld at 2.950 OAL
Hornady brass
57.5 H1000, 210 primer
56.2 RL26,CCI250 primer
Both were 2920-2960 FPS depending on barrel length

Take .2 grains less in ADG for the same accuracy and velocity
There seems to be a good node at 57.0 to about 58 with the h-1000, it surprises me how many different rifles from 20" -28" it's what they like .

59 gr Retumbo, cci 250's for 2910 fps from a 22 inch barrel. Just deer so far, no elk yet. 427 to 849 yards.

Hard to argue with results like that! I've got some 147 ELD-Ms I can load up when I get moved into my new house and set my bench up.

Do you all prefer the 147 ELD-M to the 143 ELD-X? Although I hunt fields, sometimes I take shots less than 100 yards. 147 ELD-M seems kinda frangible at closer ranges and higher speeds.

I prefer the eldx for terminal performance. But they are both frangible at close range high speed in the 6.5s.... in a creed moor I think the eldx is the best thing ever. They drive deep and just the nose pops at 200 yards and on. The core and jacket drive though or stick in the hide on opposite. My family has wacked a lot of elk with the eldx in a creed even to 515 yards.

Now I'm on to a 26 nosler with 3217 fps 156 bergers. Like the PRC 147s it makes a grenade hole at close range so I try for lungs up close and I'm careful what shot to take. It's the nature of the beast like shooting a sierra matching vs gameking.....it's not for everyone but a lot of us make it work. Attached is my buck taken at 425 from the 26n....

I stuck the bullet in back further and lost very little meat.

Of all the powders recommended for 6.5 prc (h1000,4831,7828, R-26), with 147-155 wt bullets, Retumbo worked best. 2 proof barres, one a steel comp and other CF. Steel is in long action, and CF is Savage factory.
