I got a Winchester model 94 from an uncle a few years ago and I've always used a bore snake to clean it but it really needs a good cleaning. Has anyone every taken one apart for a good cleaning?
I also have a Marlin model 336 that I really enjoy shooting and it is super simple to take apart and clean.

Check the unloaded rifle twice - just to be sure it's unloaded.
Be sure to use a GOOD set of gunsmith screwdrivers that fit the screws perfectly, hold the tool perfectly vertical

No need to take it down any further than bolt removal ...... a good padded barrel vise helps a lot when running a rod through the barrel.

Watched his videos. Will be doing it this week. I'll be taking pictures as I go for reference. Not nearly as easy as the 336. I'm not positive but I doubt this rifle has ever been taken apart and really cleaned.
