Winchester 94 commemorative pricing

I found a near perfect 94 from 1979 at a pawn shop. Paid $300 for it four years ago. I'm reloading with those rubber pointed bullets that I can't remember the name of at this moment. Shoots amazing, really fun. I just have trouble with consistent ejection. I hit a 2' square target at 300 yards first try. I didn't try to hit it a second time because my score could only go down from there :D

Having had several of these, it is my opinion that Winchester went way overboard on these. Seemed to be the commemorative of the month. Like Franklin Mint, or postage stamps, too many made and only those in 100% condition are worth anything extra. Collectors look for perfection. Has the lever been operated to open the action? Any scratches on the metal or wood? Every imperfection counts. Now, in rebuttal, they do have engraving, fancy wood, octagon barrels, etc. So if I wanted a fancy 94, it might be something to take into consideration, but not at collector prices.

I sold mine in the mid-80s. Two guys with thick brogues were interested and paid top dollar, in cash. I often wondered if they were shipped to Eire, and used by the IRA.

Birddog,
Did you see the prices that they are bringing on Gunbroker? Do you want top dollar?
No Brainer!!
Gary
Ditto!!! That's one of those collectables that brings top dollar on GB. Example several mummy wrap Enfield No4 Mk2 that went for $18XX to $19XX on GB. I have a mummy wrap No4 Mk2 that will end up on GB and maybe my No4 Mk1.

I am hoping someone that collects or has experience buying or selling collector model 94's can give me a real world asking price. I've got a Winchester 94 antlered game that's unfired with all paperwork, styrofoam packing and the cardboard sleeve. Gun is probably 98% and sleeve is slightly faded. I did a search and prices are all over the place, some were $800 range and others were $3000. I don't mind giving a deal but I don't want to give it away since I've had it for 20 years. Thanks in advance for any advice, Birddog
check out "True Gun Value". lists recently sold and for sale guns by make/model
Present time and availablity of firearms makes for a sellers market.
