Im going to give the 121 Lehigh defense bullets a try if they will coat the same or similar as cup and core.

I coat Cutting Edge and Hammers and notice a slight color difference but the bullets are a little different color to start with, just be sure to clean the hollow points out as they can become filled or smashed shut, if using tipped bullets don't worry.

I noticed HP bullets come out a darker color, I think lead dust gets mixed in and plated into the HBN -maybe. Tipped bullets come out just a little hazy.

I clean the container after tumbling HP cup and core bullets.

I have coated the hammers I was using the hbn with the stainless media it worked great but it look me forever to remove the pins from the hollow points when I coat the next ones I will be removing the pins and using just the little round media on them, no issues on the coating though

    You don't need the media.
I never even opened the bag.

I have been using media up until my last session. I decided to remove it and coat some 178 ELDs. It worked just fine, that’s one less step to do when coating. And one of the biggest pains.

So basically you guys just put the bullets in a vibratory tumbler and add the hex? How long do you run it and how many bullets/ hex? Do you need to prep the barrel like moly coated bullets? Thanks ahead of time.

I do two hours 100 bullets up to 208 grains. My container only holds about 85-90 225 ELDs and I just put 50 of the 338 285elds. I use a hex/alcohol slurry to pretreat the barrel.

Thankstbrice23 and gohring3006. I may start a new thread on this so that I don't hijack the OP's thread.

I treat the barrel as well with 99% alcohol + Hbn and the first shot or two on the freshly treated barrel will be ~50fps higher and flatten primers(I'm near the top on most hunting loads) so you might want to load a couple rounds a bit lower charge for a freshly swabbed barrel. Just my experience.
