What powder? 6.5 prc 156

Making a long range load for my 6.5 prc with 156 bergers and I'm debating on what powder to start with. I'm using adg brass and ccibr2 primers. Proof MTR 24" barrel with 7.5 twist. Powder options are H1000, retumbo, N565, N560. Looking for the most forgiving and temp stable powder, and over 2900 fps would be nice but velocity isn't a deal breaker .

All of those powers are rock solid. H1000 is (I believe) the second most temp stable powder in Hodgdon's extreme line, and it's much easier on throats than many other magnum powders. Retumbo can have pressure spikes at near max charges. VV is really good and consistent stuff too, just a touch on the dirty side in my opinion. N565 would probably give you the best velocity. You really won't go wrong with any of them. I just think H1000 has more pro's it than con's in comparison to the others listed. Not to mention it is a touch easier to find than the others. To each his own!

Using N565 here, but not great velocity as I am sticking with most accurate load at approx. 2850fps with 156gr.

Awesome thanks y'all, after a little more research on here I'm going to try N560 first. Another member was loading 59gr in adg brass and getting 3100fps with good accuracy. If that doesn't work for me I'll try H1k

With my 6.5 saum H1000 is king, RL26 if speed is the goal

In the 140 class the H4831sc did really well which surprised me.

Depends on your goal.
RL26: highest speeds by far with good precision & not terrible temp stability. Careful as it gets over 90* F.
H1000: I sacrifice speed to get very low ES & SDs.
If hunting with sub 500 meter shots use RL26 for max energy. For target shooting at 1000 yards/meters use H1000.

I pressured out with RL26 in both of my custom 6.5PRC's even using CCI200 primers but they both love H1000. In my 6.5 Creedmoors, RL26 is my go to powder.
