I have a Weatherby Mark V Ultralight in 270 Weatherby. Fired 52 times for break in but have decided to sell it to fund a different project in a similar caliber. Purchased in 2014 has 26" Teflon coated stainless barrel. This rifle has been Magnaported and comes with Leupold STD bases with medium height rings. I have original box.

How does it shoot? Is the recoil harsh?

I haven't spent a lot of time with load development. First 31 rounds through the gun were for my usual break in process and I wasn't really paying attention to groups that closely. I had 3 loads that shot well, 2 in a hole and 1 flyer. I tried some 140 gr pills and some N560, h1000, 4350 and it didn't like it. Shot well with 130 gr using 7828. At the time I couldn't get any reloader 22 so there are a lot of options still out there for loads.

Recoil and jump are very manageable especially with magnaport. To try and quantify it I would put it down close to 25-06 in terms of recoil.

The Ultralights in Weatherby calibers weigh a pound more than those in standard calibers, so that helps with recoil.
